**Calling all Riu Negril brides**

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies. My fiancé and I are getting married June 29th this year and I'm super excited!! Trying to keep the cost down and was wondering what the chairs look like. Our ceremony takes place at Club Hotel on the beach. Does anyone have any pictures? Want to bring my own.

Hello everyone! This may be a weird question but from looking at all the pictures it seems like this resort is in a tighter cove and all the pictures I have found of weddings here so far seem to have a strip of land in the background instead of ocean horizon. Does anyone know if this is how all the weddings are set up here or is there some way you could have the ocean in the background?

Hi Ladies! We are getting married at Riu Palace Tropical Bay October 12, 2013!!  I know some things are the same at Club Negril - The chairs for the "free wedding" package are green plastic chairs.  They aren't the most attractive thing, but for $12/chair you can rent a cover and sash.  If you have a larger group they use white ones, which don't need covers (in my opinion!)

We upgraded our booking to the ocean view suite and chose the free wedding package.  I'm upgrading my bouquet, but bringing silk flowers for everyone else that I've already made up.

I've been working on our OOT bags - but just sent out the invites so waiting for a more firm RSVP's to come back first.

Started freaking out today because its only 4 months away... and I haven't figured out our menu for our AHR, and have a lot to do in the next 2 months!

Time flys by faster than you would think..  Thank goodness I have my dress, Tim's outfit, bridesmaids dresses/groomsmen outfits, & our invites done!!!! My travel agent has been a tremendous help with contacting the wedding planner for me and doing all the nitty gritty for me :):) she's so good to me!

I am getting married at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay October 26/13. Time really does fly and I'm trying to plan and getting a lot of great info from this site. We will have 30 guests including our wedding party. We are paying an additional $200 to have the beach area for the reception after dinner at the Steakhouse. I booked a local photographer, Marcia E Roberts, who my co-worker and several clients have used. I am also booking a dj. I found the pricing at the resort to be exorbitant. What I am hoping to upgrade is on the arch which I understand from threads will be a couple hundred, and adding the chair covers ($9 if you don't need sashes?) and tiki torches. Has anyone had any experience with the beach area and use of lighting? I bought sashes, table runners, tulle for the arch, personalized votive candle holders, fans for the ceremony and have recently started my OOT bags and centerpieces with either reasonably priced websites or online using Kajiji. Hoping to keep the trend going so I don't spend a small fortune on the resort upgrades. Any help would be much appreciated :) 400

Any new riu negril brides? Im getting married June 2014 and I have chosen the free package. I want to keep this as simple as possible. I still haven't figured out the details of how I want everything to be but I know I want the minimum. Any suggestions?

This is awesome, thank you for puttting together the threads. My wedding is in April 2015 and I am putting together to do lists and welcome things for my guests, so this helps a ton! as welll as setting my nerves at ease.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
