**Calling all Riu Negril brides**

Recommended Posts

Does any past or present Riu Negril brides know if I bring my own chair sashes, if they will tie them to the chairs or not? If so do they charge for a set up fee? Also for those who had a beach ceremony, did you use an aisle runner? Thinking of bringing my own. The prices they charge are crazy!!!

Hello girls!! This thread has been pretty quiet lately. Has anyone made any further plans at the resort? Are there any new members getting married at the Riu Negril?

I've been in contact quite a bit with Dionne over the last few months and now I'm trying to put together my wedding brochure that I'll be handing out to my guests. I've already booked the ceremony, private reception and DJ. Next will be to find out the table arrangements, and make my seating chart. I'm also going to organize a welcome and farewell dinner at the different a-la-carte restaurants. I know getting reservations there are a bit of a hassle so I'm hoping Dionne can do this for us. This will give my guests an opportunity to eat at the restaurants without having to worry about waking up early to make the reservation. I also have to get my documents notarized and sent out by the end of the month. The day is coming so quickly...96 days away!!!! How's everyone else's planning going?

hey! the thread has come back to life!!! :)

Aside from booking and confirming my wedding date/location, as well as confirming with Dionne that I'll have the Steakhouse for my semi-private reception, I haven't really had a need to contact the resort this early.  We're going with the free wedding package so there aren't too many extra details to work out and we're also brining a fairly small group (I'm guessing we'll have about 25 in the end).  When the date comes closer we do want to organize some sort of welcome dinner as well as a group sunset trip to Rick's Cafe the day after the weddding.  We think the Ricks Cafe cruise the day after would be perfect because my FI's best friend actually asked us if we'd be ok with him proposing to his gf while in Jamaica. We obviously said OF COURSE! it would be perfect because she wouldn't be expecting it when travelling for our wedding. So I'm thinking Rick's Cafe at sunset would be a PERFECT proposal time for him!

We're 6 months away now, but I'm starting to feel like I should probably start getting my behind in gear in terms of my DIY projects since I most likely won't be getting much done during the holidays.  The major things are taken care of though. FI has his attire, I have my dress and shoes.  My grandma is going to alter my dress for me (only has to be shortened) and that will be taken care of some time this fall.  Trip is booked and will be paid for at the end of the month.  The only other major thing is our rings, but we think we'll wait until Jan to get those.  How soon did you get your rings??? I just keep changing my mind on what I want!!!  I thought I wanted a simple band, but when I was in the store the other day to get my ring cleaned I noticed they had a new band there with stones that I LOVED! oh the decisions!!  I've also recently decided I want to make my bouquet instead of going with the free one from the resort. So now I'm on the hunt for some faux turquoise flowers. how fun!

I can't believe your day is only 96 days away now deb! soooo exciting!!

We're also going with the free wedding package, just makes the most sense. There was a lot of things in those other packages that I don't really need. That's great that your friend is going to propose there, and Ricks Cafe would be a great spot for it! We haven't gotten our rings yet, we'll go in the next couple of weeks. It's getting very exciting!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
