I agree that having a wedding package that includes everything makes things easier and, in my experience cheaper. We're getting married on Kauai with 34 guests and our wedding with officiant, photographer, flowers, musician, leis, a champagne toast, wedding license and beach permit is going to be costing us less than $2,000. You just have to shop around and don't be afraid to ask for dicounts on everything. Most places that I have called have been really good about giving discounts.
And who are you using for your coordinator? haha...I keep asking everyone, as I just found this thread and am reading everyone's posts.

We're getting married in Maui (most likely...still contemplating Mexico). It is just going to be the two of us...long story, but basically parents weren't happy about the destination idea, and we can't afford to do anything at home due to the # of guests. So, we're trying to stay within a $5,000 budget for our WHOLE trip, including airfare from Philly!

Thanks!!

I used Aekai Weddings. My coordinator was Jo and she was wonderful to work with. The photographer was Ian Sheppard and he was so patient and took so many perfect pictures. I purchased the flowers and hair and make-up through them as well. I was happy with all of their services and couldn't have asked for anything more. After the wedding we went to Kimo's restaurant in Lahaina and the food and service there was great.

Hi,

I found that information to be very helpful. My husband and I are planning our 10th yr Anniversary renewal in Maui. My brother just got married there 2 yrs ago. So I thought it would be a great idea for us to have our renwal in Maui. So yes I found the way you did things very good. I'm trying to keep things under 4,000 if possible and if we're lucky under 3,000. LOL!!

Wow! I am so impressed with you all staying within your budget! Ours is completely getting out of control.  We are getting married at Olowalu, which I was willing to pay the price for because I can't stop dreaming about it! Out of curiosity, if you are having a full day photographer, what are the typical rates for Maui?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
