Newbie from... England!

Hello!

Stumbled here like many others it seems via a search for "boarding pass invitations".

I don't know if my wedding really counts as a "destination wedding" but this forum seems like a great resource nonetheless as we are definitely "Travel" themed.

I'm from California as are most of my guests and family. My fiance and his family are from Scotland. We are currently living in England as are a lot of our mutual friend guests. The wedding itself will be in Scotland. Soo... not sure if it's a destination wedding exactly (half the guests will be driving like 40 minutes) but close enough I suppose!

Oh and the date is August 19, 2010!

welcome! i am originally from hong kong (but got a british passport) and have lived in UK for 9 years. my fiancee is british and have lived in wales most of his life. where in scotland are you planning? do not want to burst your bubble, but i hope you are flexible with your dates and churches, registry and venue for reception etc. like that. i have heard registries and churches get booked out quite quickly esp. in the summer, so would advice to move quick. also check out confetti.co.uk if you have not done so. hope this helps!

Hi Vonnie6! We are all booked in for both our ceremony and reception at the Lochside House Hotel (|| Lochside House Hotel || New Cumnock || 01290 333000 ||). We weren't fussed about the date but we really love the venue.

You're totally right that things get booked so quickly! our wedding date is a Thursday because pretty much all the summer weekends (including Fridays) were already taken!! eek.gif Now to hurry and get a registrar, thanks for reminding me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
