ROR Drides- Beach Gazebo or Pond Gazebo?

Recommended Posts

Hello Blushing Brides!

I'm getting married at ROR and my TA booked the Pond gazebo. After seeing pics I am having second thoughts. What are some advantages/disadvantages of having a ceremony on the beach or at the pond gazebo? Help!!! I can't make up my mind!!

I think that the location that you pick is just a personal preference and that we all picked the ceremony location that appealed to us the most.

Some pick the beach because they want to have a ceremony right on the beach, in the sand, with the ocean behind them.

If you're not into walking in the sand & being right on the beach then a beach ceremony might not be for you & the pond gazebo might better suit your needs. But then you have to keep in mind that the resort is your backdrop since the pond gazebo is located in front of the resort buildings.

Why exactly were you having second thoughts about the pond gazebo?

I chose the beach gazebo b/c I love the beach and if I am going to Jamaica, I want the beautiful ocean as the backdrop. However, I know alot of people are not big fans of sand, so I think that is what makes some brides chose the pond gazebo. Also, if you plan to be married in heels, u may want to do the pond gazebo, as the heels will sink in the sand and make it pretty hard to walk.

I'm having 2nd thoughts because I don;t like that the resort is directly in back of the pond gazebo.. I think I want more of a view- but I don't

SP- i don't plan on wearing heels so luckily that won'bb an issue. Thanks ladies you gave me some things to think about

  • 2 months later...

Beach has a nice backdrop and there is more room for guests.

Pretty much anyone can watch your wedding on the beach though. It is quite the walk from the standard rooms to the beach gazebo too.

Pond is more private but less room.

I found both are nice but would do the beach again in a minute. It was just more peaceful.

Depends on what you want.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
