Katken's long, pic heavy, planning thread 6/5/09

Recommended Posts

So I totally meant to do this before I left, but of course I had too much to do. So better late than never. We were married on June 5 at AZUL Sensatori. It was fabulous. A review is to follow!

I forgot to take some pics before I left, so some of them are photos from the actual event, but at least you get the idea!

The wedding dress that I randomly found in Bend, OR, even though I live in Scottsdale, AZ. It is a Maggie. I wasnâ€t planning on buying when I did and had hardly done any research on gowns. Iâ€m so happy I ended up buying a Maggie sort of on accident. This was at the store, obviously, still needed alterations at this time:

My garter (itâ€s blue) that my mom got for me. She had our date and monogram embroidered in it. My mom also attached my Great Grandmotherâ€s shoe clip so Grandma Bobby could be with me on wedding day.

Iâ€m not much of a DIY-er and we had a lot of people on our invite list, so we bought the STDâ€s and invites from a regular invitation boutique.

Looks like everything was perfect! Thanks for sharing! Quick question, where did you buy your guest book plate? Is it the kind that you bake after so the signatures settle in and you can use the plate later and the marker will never come off? And how did you get your logo on it?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
