Ok Ladies,

So I know there have been many threads discussing this topic, but I would like to get a summary of how many brides have registered or not, and whether you wish had if you didn't.

I personally debated on this topic, and after ready many threads on this decided to do a small registry.

Hi!

I hope you're talking about registering for gifts (sorry I'm a little slow today haha). Anyway, my DH and I decided against a gift registry as we felt our family's presence was gift enough for us...of course that didn't stop them from giving us cards filled with money anyway lol but they were not obligated or expected to give us anything and since DH and I had been living together for 5 years prior to the wedding, we already had everything we needed anyway.

Yes, we did...this was a fun thing to do. I dragged FI to Crate and Barrel. It was a moment to see him squirm...haha, actually it was really cute to see what he liked and he kept me grounded. I didn't really expect to get anything, but I have, and at least I was able to pick stuff we like. I can't hurt. If people want to get you something they can..if not they won't.

My girls are throwing me a shower and we are having an AHR...so it made sense to do it for us.

Yes we definitely did. People are throwing me showers like its a traditional wedding & we are having a big AHR, so I am treating it like any other wedding. As always, I don't feel that people have to purchase things from it, but for those who look for guidance when gift giving, I think it is fine to have it for them to choose from. To me its just like if our wedding was at home.

We didn't because we didn't need any more crap cluttering up the house. Various people gave us a hard time about not registering (among other things), but we didn't really care what everyone else wanted or said we should do. Register if you want, not because people are badgering you to do so. Your wedding, your final say.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
