You have the same 3 we looked at!! Too funny. We ended up choosing dreams for our hotel, but Las Caletas to get married at. Here's what swayed our decisions:

Vallarta Palace - we've stayed at palace resorts before and they are great places!! The only reason we did not choose this place was because it was in Nuevo Vallarta and we really wanted to be close to town with all the things to do. Also, if I remember correctly the weddings there were a little more spendy.

Mayan Palace - really liked it. However based on the beach we choose dreams.

Dreams - wanted to have our wedding there. However after filling out 2 wedding request forms and sending two or three emails to the WC and waiting over a month and half for a responce we decided it wasn't for us. I have to try and be patient but her responce time killed me. Plus while she wasn't responding we were checking out Las Caletas and we fell in love with it.

And so far Las Caletas has been great! I filled out a wedding request last week and already have pics, details, and a proposal! Impressed to say the least.

Good luck! Sorry if this doesn't help you much

Thank you Tara for your comments, we loved the Vallarta Palace but the reception needs to end earlier than the Mayan Palace ...

Mayan Palace I dont know about the hotel is it nice? The pictures of the hotel installations are not real good

I will check on Caletas, the only thing we have to check is if they can acommodate large weddings, we will have around 150 people!

I too am getting married at Las Caletas and am hoping to stay at Dreams, if my travel arrangements work out :) I also considered Vallarta Palace but reventually decided I would rather be at Dreams.

If you are planning a wedding I would go with Las Caletas, the wc is great and the response is quick. I started trying to get in contact with the wc at Dreams in March. She would take weeks to get back to me and would not answer my questions but rather she kept attaching the same documents she previously sent me. I even filled out the wedding request form online because it stated someone would call in 2 business days. No one did. The wc at Dreams actually sent me a form yesterday asking me to reserve my wedding date. You got to be kidding me!!! I replied by saying I'm taking my business elsewhere and why. How am I supposed to plan a wedding without information!!

Hi! We're getting married at the Mayan Palace in the Marina (not Nuevo Vallarta). The WC has been great so far. You are allowed to stay until 2am and can use your own vendors. The standard set up is really nice as well.

I had Dreams originally booked, however the WC can take a long time responding and considering I'm some what of a planner, I was easily frustrated by her lack of response.

I've seen pics of the Vallarta Palace and it looks beautiful. However, it is a little far from down town PV since it is located in Nuevo Vallarta. Also, I would check if they allow outside vendors just incase.

I have not been to any of these but just based on reviews and pics I would go with Mayan Palace in PV. I think the WC at Dreams is way too slow based on what everyone else says. That would drive me crazy!! Also I would rather be closer to the downtown area so I would pick PV over Nuevo Vallarta. That alone would make me want to pick Mayan Palan in PV. Also I have seen the pics of the weddings at the Mayan Palace and it looks amazing!!!! That would def be my choice if I was going to pick a place. And Amy has been working with the WC and she says he responds quickly which is always a plus.

Thank you for all your comments and it’s seems Dreams is being out of the plan due the slow response from the WC.

So we will decide between Vallarta Palace and Mayan Palace... in case somebody has pictures of weddings there can u pls share? That will help a lot!

hey there mora..

ourselves and all of our guests are staying at dreams (we're staying there for a week and two days).

we're getting married at las caletas.

and we're going to vallarta palace for our honeymoon.

we originally looked into getting married at dreams, but since we are not a traditional couple, they were not willing to host our service on their property. we decided that we were still going to use the resort for their accommodations (despite their morality policies) because we have heard nothing but wonderful things from friends and family who have recently stayed there and we are having a decent number of guests flying in for our wedding. just as everyone has already said, the wedding coordinator is virtually impossible to get in touch with. we have been in touch with other employees from their events department regarding setting up a poolside welcome dinner for our guests and, just as with the wedding coordinator, the information they've sent is far from reliable. as a matter of fact, we've received different answers from two people in the department.

as for las caletas, i cannot say enough positive things about our experience with adventure weddings and their wedding coordinator, nicole. she has really turned out to be a blessing in disguise when it comes to planning and i can't even begin to explain how professional and courteous she is. getting married on a private beach where there will be no spectators was definitely part of what sealed our decision. from what i understand, beach weddings at dreams are visible to any of the other guests and only a certain area of the beach is roped off...

good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
