what did your resort do that blew you away????

Recommended Posts

I am curious to know what your resort/hotel/venue did that totally blew you away (in a good way)huh.gif

What was the best thing that they did for your wedding that you didn't expecthuh.gif and for your guests?

Wedding

Our resort took the decoration of the reception hall to a level I didn't think was possible, all of the linens were perfect! I did not expect that each table would have champagne buckets at every table that were draped in proper linens.

Guests

Everyone had a bathtub filled with water and petals, and a box of coconut (like bounty/mounds) chocolates. My guests were wowed!

That's great! My hotel did nada for us ~ NA-DA! lol Seriously, the Marriott PV just does not care. We did not have the ceremony there but we brought in 25 guests and they knew we were getting married. Nothing back in our room on the wedding night... never anything...

We got married at Las Caletas though and they did everything perfectly, including a cold bottle of champagne waiting for me and my girls the day of! Loved that :)

I will say our HM hotel did a cool thing for us! We stayed at The Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios, JA and they sent us a tray which included 1) a letter of congratulations from the Manager (looked hand signed) with a $50 gift cert to the spa (which we put to use on a couples massage lesson!) 2) Ice cold champagne in a bucket of ice 3) yummy little dessert plate and separate fruit/cheese plate. Was very, very sweet of them! After our previous experience, we felt so touched at this token of their acknowledgment of our wedding/honeymoon.

My resort had great service. Our resort gave dh and me bride and groom all inclusive bracelets to wear. whenever an employee at the resort (and i'm talking almost every employee we saw) would see our bracelets they would ask about our wedding and offer our help in anyway possible. then they would remember us everyday we saw them. One morning i was out taking pics of the various wedding ceremony locations and reception locations so i could post them here for any girls interested in our location and an employee saw me and came up to me and walked me over to a location and told me the exact time i should take the best picture of the beach ceremony gazebo, he told me when the sky would be perfect and the waves would be crashing behind. i thought that was pretty cool of him to stop in his busy day and help me with my pictures.

Ourr 2nd resort, where we spent out honeymoon The Valentin Maya, totally blew me away. I wracked up about $500.00 in spa treatments that I charged to the room. When we checked out they said "thank You for chosing us for your honey moon, the spa charges are on us" I couldnt believe it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
