My grandma passed away yesterday :(

So, my grandma passed away yesterday. She was 88 and in a nursing home for a few years and she was ready to go, I think so anyway. It was something that was expected to come and we knew that she wasn't doing well last week, but its still so sad. I made the decision to not see her in the nursing home while she was there. Its what worked for me and just wasn't the way I wanted to remember her. I'm not feeling badly about that decision, but I feel so sad that she died alone. I'm not even really sad that she passed on because she really wanted to a couple of years ago, but I can't stop thinking about what it must be like to be old. Most of her friends had passed on already, her husband passed away many many years ago, my mom went to see her daily, but that was it. Its just so sad. The funeral is on Friday and it will just be our family, which is really small. I'm much more sad than I expected to be (don't take that the wrong way).

Thanks for letting me share... sad.gif

Kelly I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother. it's never easy and thinking we will react one way and then when the time comes having a different thought process on it is totally normal.

Just think she's off in a better happier place now :0)

Big hugs!

I'm sorry for your loss. :-( She's at peace now and partying up in heaven I'm sure! I think as people get older they become more prepared to pass on. My great-grandmother had her box with the dress she wanted to be buried in and all of the instructions for her funeral ready to go for about 10 years.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was just telling a story today about my grandma who passed away 2 years ago. I miss her, but I have so many great memories & stories that she is still a big part of my life.

After she passed, I spent a lot of time organizing pictures I had of her. I finally scanned them and backed up the files and the shared them with family.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
