Am I an emotional wreck?

Recommended Posts

I happen to find it funny at times, but honestly, everything about getting married makes me cry! When I listen to a song I want to play at the reception, I cry, even if it's not a romantic song (like 'rainbow country' by bob marley, cuz we're getting married in Hawaii)- and if it's our first dance or recessional song, I'm bawling on the subway!! I had to stop listening to my iPod! I found out our rings are going to be ready next Friday, and that alone made me cry. Going to the seamstress, looking at flowers, sending out invites, even watching tv weddings... I should mention this is nothing new, I've been like this for the whole year we've been planning. wtf! Is something wrong with me? PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one!crybaby2.gif

You're not alone. We're getting married on the same date as you, but in Jamaica. As we're going through possible songs, I get teary eyed too. I think it's perfectly normal to feel this overwhelming emotion. This is a big deal: the DW, so who cares...no worries. We should all be worried if we weren't affect by emotions at this point.lol

Sometimes when we lay next to each other on the couch watching a movie or something I think: OMG he's going to be my husband. I'm going to laying next to my husband. Weird, huh.

I know what you mean about your IPOD. He let me chose the ceremony songs myself and he's choosing the rest. So, I know i'll start tearing up with the words cause they describe how I feel and i'm not so great with showing my feelings.

I'll have to concentrate on something else so no one knows.

You're just excited and happy, is all. Congrats and good luck with everything.

Dont worry, its natural. You think your a mess now. I warn you that the night before and the morning of you will probably be even worse. Not to scare you, but dont worry. Just remember that they are happy tears. Its an emotional time and I am sure you have put your heart and soul into planning your wedding so its also nerves and worrying about things going right. But another warning is that not everything is going to be what you imagined it to be (meaning flowers, food etc...) But the day will be perfect because in the end your standing next to who is now your husband. Its a great feeling.

To make you feel better I pulled a 'Steel Magnolia, Sally Field' moment. (I hope you saw the movie or else you wouldnt understand) But when she flips out and starts screaming "I'M FINE!!!!" It was the night before the wedding and we were all out to dinner and everyone kept asking me how I was feeling etc... but finaly after about 10 people I freaked. My family thought I was crazy, I started crying like a baby and ended up leaving everyone and going back to my room to watch a movie and empty the mini bar alone. But as soon as it was my turn to walk down that aisle I was cool as a cucumber. So dont worry, your not the first and you wont be the last. So cheer up, have a glass of wine, put on some party music and dance like no one is watching. lol

Congrats and good luck.

I do it too. I'm afraid I'm going to have horrible, blotchy red eyes for my pictures. I don't wear tears well lol. But at least they are all happy tears I guess :-)

Yeah, Vikki, that's my biggest concern- the ugly cry! All I really care about is that I finally end up married to this guy already!! And that I don't bawl my face off throughout the entire ceremony, hahaha!!

Right there with u! I get so emotional every time I think about my wedding. Even buying the stamps to send my invites out made me cry!!! I just hope my pics come out good.

I think being a cry baby in the weeks and months before worked to my advantage. I was SO worried I would be a complete mess the day of and shake so bad I wouldn't be able to stand. I had a good cry by myself the day before the wedding, one minor freakout moment after getting dressed and my mom put on my necklace. One I saw my man, it was smooth sailing. No tears at all during the ceremony, but I think it helped that I could barely understand the officiant! LOL. Hang in there!
