freaking out

Recommended Posts

I had a freaking out session last night. We've been booked for our trip/wedding for a few months now and feel that I should be doing things, but I don't know what I should be doing.

We have just over 6 months to go until the wedding. The invitations have been sent out and we're receiving some back and all that so I'm handling that. As for the wedding, well I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible. I'm going with whatever flowers, cake, decorations the resort has. I don't want to fuss over all that otherwise I would have gotten married here! lol (that's my opinion anyway!)

Anyway, I feel like I should be doing more, but I don't know what I can do! HELP!! Anybody else feeling like this? or is it just me??

Becks posted the best list that you could enter your wedding date and it would tell you when you should be doing certain stuff. If your making your wedding as simple as possible than a lot might not pertain to you. I would search for the thread with her list and print it out and use it to make your own list catered to things you need to do.

Hey Lisa! Don't worry, I think that's pretty normal! I keep having people ask me how my wedding plans are coming and what I have left to do and I they always look at me funny when I say that I'm just about done planning, the rest I'll take care of when I get there! The big things would be booking your vendors like your photographer, your dress (which I saw was in the works!), wedding party attire, etc. I'm keeping my wedding really simple too, so I feel like those are pretty much the main things. I'm not doing a formal reception so I don't have to worry about any of that stuff. I think it just depends on what you're doing. I know that sometimes it can feel initimidating to hear all of the plans that the other brides on here are making, which sometimes made me feel like I was missing something, but the reality is that we are all planning DIFFERENT weddings! Honestly, in the past 3 months, the only thing I've done is gotten the girls to pick out their bridesmaid dress! So don't worry, just enjoy the time you have to relax!

I think with DW's especially, theres SOOO much PLANNING that we do. Even before we can TRULY do anything. It just feels wierd when you get to a "stopping point" where you can sort of relax for a while. Doesn't mean that you're done--just that you're done and in a good place for now.

If you feel like you're missing something, just go over your wedding day from start to finish, the way you envision it. Every thing for every moment from the time you get up til the time you guys call it a night. If you're forgetting anything, believe me-it will pop up when you do that mental review!

Relax and try to enjoy..the six month mark seems to be a beautiful place to be; you've still got plenty of time for anything left but not TOO much time to have to wait! Enjoy!

I honestly have been enjoying it but just had a freak-out moment last night! lol

We're not having a wedding party, so that takes care of that. My dress is almost complete (WOOO!), we just purchased the FI's clothes for the wedding last week. People are booking their trips. I haven't decided what we're doing about OOT bags or maybe just favors. As for a photographer, my cousin is one (who did my engagement pics) and we're hoping that he comes. If not, I'll use the one from the resort. It's just not really in our budget to hire another one.

OK, I guess things aren't really that bad for me, I was just stressing!

Nikki - you are SO right! Reading what everyone else is doing is making it worse! lol I think that's why I got so stressed. You start thinking about things and thinking, well, maybe I should do that too! You're right, everyone is planning for different weddings. Thanks for helping! :)

Lisa - Don't Stress! I've barely done anything for my wedding and I'm approaching the 5 MO mark. Ive really only done STDs, found a dress, and a shirt (not pants yet) for FI. I havent even started invitations, don't know if i'm doing OOT bags, and don't have any time this month to really focus on myself because i'm in 2 weddings coming up! oh well :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
