Picking a Date...

I love your wedding site! Who did you go through to set that up? I'm currently working with destinationweddings.com and they said they would set up the site for me. I can only hope that it's as nice as yours!

Thank you everyone for your comments. Because of all of your suggestions to focus on a date that worked for us we have narrowed our choices down to 2 dates...12/31/10 and 2/12/11. My TA is checking into the price difference now and once we determine that, we will make our decision. I've been on here for less than a week and it's already helped make a tough decision much easier.

Thank you all so much!

We chose the thanksgiving holiday. It all depends on what you'd like to factor in....if you want to avoid hurricane season, if you want to avoid holidays, etc... there are plenty of good dates that some people might have off work (Like Martin Luther King Day, or Presidents Day, etc) throught the year. Pull out a calendar and see what dates jump out at you. Do you have to have a saturday or could you do a friday or a week day?
Hi Josie,

I see you and your FI rocking the Penn State shrits. Are you from there? I grew up in Williamsport PA which is very close by. By the way, your response in particularly helped me choose 12/31/10 as one of my options. Not only was it something that I really wanted, based on what you mentioned, it might acutally be more convenient for guests since they will more than likely already be off. (And it falls on a weekend this year!)

Thanks!

I think that's the best way to go about it. We orginally had said well we should pick a time where people would want a vacation AKA Winter. But after looking with my sister who's our TA, she ran prices and showed us the difference a week makes and whatnot. We decided on May 1, where we are down there the last week in April. Right after the school break and the prices dropped tremendously. All in all we based ours around the cost. Hope that helps =) AND CONGRATS!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
