WC in Nassau Bahamas

I'm planning on getting married this July in the Bahamas. I'm having my guests stay at the RIU because its ALL INCLUSIVE... but we decided to get married off the resort so it can be more private. Definitely think you should talk to an agent, you can get a group deal, Your guests will have an option to book on their too if they want. I've never been to the Wyndham but I heard it was nice.

Okay thanks . Besides the WC would you have any suggestion as far as location . People have being telling to find a resort that's all inclusive then plan the wedding at another location . Since your guest are staying at the Riu , do you recommend it .

I've stayed zt the riu twice. Its great. The only down side is that its small. Were getting married at the cloisters at one and only. Then taking our guests to restaurant Lucianos. You have to be careful cause costs can easily add up.

Thank you Jslm, I called wedding in the bahamas I spoke to Anne Marie I think . I was looking at photo for the cloister since we don't want. Beach wedding we though of it as great idea. So we are going to stay at the Riu (guest) then wedding at cloister one and only and reception at the restaurant . Now since you are ahead of me in the planning ill like to know , if you visited. Also who did you hired as your wedding planner . How long will the reception be at the restaurant . Also are you cruising down there or are you flying . If you could help me out as far as the details goes. I will greatly appreciated .

Hey.... i'm actually working with Anne Marie also! She's been great.I have been to the Bahamas, last time was in October before i finalized my dates (just to make sure we still loved it). I don't know if you will have a chance to check it out before your big day but you should try.You will love the Cloisters, its more prettier in person. Its very private and serene. Also went to Luciano's for dinner and the food was great. RIU is small but the atmosphere was really nice. Met a lot of people. Everyone was very friendly. Plus Atlantis was next door and I think we walked over almost every night.

Have you set your date? And I'm more then happy to help out and give you info on anything!!

Yes , we plan on visiting next year God willing. My only concern about the restaurant would it be a reception room. For cocktail hours and ballroom. i really want to hAve reception atmosphere . For the table , decorating, centerpiece . Because our guest list is pretty long around 150 people . I'm skeptical about the Riu. Even though its all inclusive .. Since I heard its small. How long will your reception be at the restaurant.

Were doing a 4 hr reception. 1 hour for cocktails and 3 for food and dancing. It would go til 10:30ish. The place has no problem if you stay longer..as long as its open bar. If you are having a large number of people chances are your reception would be outside (thats where we are doing ours). You can do centerpieces decor etc. They charge a lot.

I took the latest time slot which is 5pm, and it gives you 2 hours there. They didn't charge me more only because I'm actually getting married on a Tuesday. You are already paying the extra fee JUST to get married there, which if you are using Ann Marie is already in your package. When you speak to Ann Marie I think she will tell you. I'm not to sure how it works if you are choosing to get married on Fri, Sat or Sunday. I think she was telling me that usually they give brides who are actually staying at the One and Only or Atlantis later time slots. I think you would have to get married earlier? Not a 100% sure on this. But never the less best to secure that site as early as possible.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
