bustier for wedding dress?

Recommended Posts

I know there are a lot of options that have corsett/bra in one, the bridal salons sell the more expensive options but get creative and you can find them elsewhere too. Do you have a TJ Maxx or Marshalls by you? I was there today and they have a big variety of "underthings" for really good price. I actually bought a belly-sucker-in thing that has boning along the bodice, on clearance for $10! I don't have my dress yet but i bought it to wear under that.

Your dress is beautiful! I have my eye on a Pronovias as well :)

I think the bustier is better so that it stays up better. strapless bras always keep slipping down on me and I don't want to keep pulling on it either. Let me know if you find anything good----I am going to be looking too and will keep you up to date.

I am fairly small chested and it gives me decent cleavage, plus has a lower back than most bustiers/corsets I saw in stores.
Did you receive it yet? I'm wondering what the quality is like and if it runs true to size?

runs pretty true to cup size, going by the sizing info if you are in between sizes for your waist I recommend going with the smaller size. I had initially ordered a 36 petite and it was big and kinda short (not as petite as I thought I guess) so I exchanged it for a 34 standard.

It comes in 2 styles, I ordered the older style but for some extra money you can get it with some updates to the boning and it has a smoother outer fabric.

KimmyG: keep in mind that if you have boning in it, you will see the lines through the dress if the dress is fitted. I tried one that had it underneath my dress, which is fitted on top to the waist, and you could see the fine lines right through the dress. Just to keep in mind and remember to bring it to try on dresses so you don't run into this problem.

I ended up buying a bustier from David's Bridal after I got drained from running around to all of these different palces and trying them on.lol I gave up. It actually was close to the same price as I saw at the "mall" type places.

I agree with Angruck that a strapless bra would probably fall or slip down.

I was told that the bustier that I purchased ran small and it did, so make sure everyone is either measuring before ordering or trying things on.

Good luck and happy shopping!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
