I have been to Playa del Carmen a couple times, but I do not recall going near a market to buy flowers. I am interested in just picking up my own flowers. I'm not picky, so just whatever is pretty & colorful. Do you think I can find this? It needs to be in or near downtown Playa, I don't think we will venture much further.

Dumb question, but is Walmart there similar to here? Do they have flowers?

My MOH used to live in the States and she says they have great flowers there. That was her suggestion was to see if there is a Walmart there and we can make our own. I guess you could figure it out when you get there and if they don't, you could order your flowers from the hotel I'm sure. I would check to see how much notice they need. From what I understand if you want tulips, calla lillies or orchids they need to know a couple weeks before hand.

What resort are you getting married at?

I completely agree with wanting to do my own flowers. I'm not looking for anything too fancy either. I haven't been to the Walmart in PDC but I have in Puerto Vallarta and it was very much the same. I would think that they probably have street side markets with fresh flowers. I'll be anxious to see if you get anymore information regarding this topic b/c I would love to know too!

Hi Penny,

Where will you be staying in Playa del Carmen? I know of two florists that are within walking distance from the Fifth Avenue and I will post their information after I locate their business cards in my folder.

I am staying at Sandos Caracol. It isn't by 5th Avenue, but the hotel does run a free shuttle every hour, so it wouldn't be bad at all going into town. I am not sure if the Walmart is near 5th Ave or not. Anyone know? The florist info would be great! Thanks for all the help!!! I'm really not being picky, on flowers, so it doesn't really stress me to wait, but I kind of want to budget for something. :)

We are having our wedding at Sandos Playacar. I am hoping that the resort is okay with allowing outside flowers to come in.

Hey brides! Found the business cards finally!

La Floreria

LA FLORE Floreria en Playa del Carmen Quintana Roo Mexico. Arreglos, Bouquets, Boutoniers, Brazaletes, Centros de Mesa, Ramos, Arcos en la Playa

Street address and phone numbers are listed on their web site. They have a pretty decent display of floral arrangements in the store. The guy I talked to does not speak much English. Best thing is to bring pictures and show them what you are looking for.

Floreria Sac-Nah

sacnah@hotmail.com

30th Ave and 16th St. Open 9am - 6pm, Mon - Sat

I would suggest checking this place out first. They have buckets of flowers in the store you can pick from. They also have pictures of floral arrangements or bridal bouquets they make. The ladies I talked to can speak English and I didn't have trouble communicating with them.

Both locations are very close to each other and they are within walking distance from Fifth Avenue and Av. Constituyentes (these two are major streets on the map). You will see La Floreria on your right first (across from the superstore Mega) and Floreria Sac-Nah is further down on 30th Avenue going across.

Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
