Whose ring is it anyway?

Recommended Posts

Well, IMO, it was a gift.....so I think the girl should keep it. HOWEVER, being a divorcee....I wanted nothing to do with the ring. I was happy to leave it behind the minute I walked out the door.

With that being said, I have since met my soul mate! It's my second chance at love!!

I was engaged before and when we broke up, I didn't really know what to do with the ring. A few months after it was over, I gave it back to him. I debated for awhile because the way that our finances were and some crap that happened in our relationship, I kinda ended up paying for some of the ring, or rather, his debt from the ring. And I had even bought him a car right before we broke up(a cheap car) so I kinda figured it was a trade off. But I decided to be the bigger person because I knew he needed the money and I didn't think it was good for me to hold onto the ring anymore.

Some days I had kinda wished I would have just kept it, sold it, and bought myself something with the money lol. But that was mostly just because I realized he had guilted me into so much(like giving the ring back to him) and the fact that he never ended up selling it because he was too proud to go back to the place he bought it, he actually gave it to his next girlfriend(not as an engagement ring, just because "she liked it") *rolls eyes*.

So long story just to say, it just depends on the situation.

And remembering what an a$$ my ex is just makes me ten time more thankful for the amazing man I have found now that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with:)

If the woman breaks it off, she should give it back. If the man breaks it off, she keeps it! NO question! If it's mutual.. i don't know.. sell it and split the cash? hehe

That's a tough one... if the girl breaks it off I think she should give it back. But there are always exceptions to the rule (if she broke it off cuz he was cheating...then she should keep it)... I think it depends on the situation.
