Custom made wedding dress in progress!

Good morning ladies!

 

Well as I've promised last night, here are the next steps in the dress making progress. It is almost complete at this point, so I'm excited about that. Sorry, there's lots and don't mind the sweaty look! It was sooo hot up on the second story, I was literally sweating down my legs! EWWWW!! I guess it gave me an idea of how it's going to be in Jamaica - HOT!!! lol

As you can see, there is a lace overlay over the satin that is free flowing!

 

Chantilly lace being added to the bottom of the dress. It's the same lace that runs along the top of the dress. I think it really finishes the look.

 

My mom trying to get a pic of my earrings with the dress. Yes, they are the ones I plan on wearing.

 

Ok so for the next few pictures, I need some help. My aunt has been trying to convince me all along to have some sort of strap. I REALLY want to do a strapless, but I guess the bra that I have isn't that great and the girls kept falling. Here's a few ideas that we were playing with. What do you guys think?

 

#1 - the spaghetti strap

 

#2 - the spaghetti strap with lacing (there would be a strap on either side of the lacing)

 

#3 - just the lacing (of course having a finished edge)

Anyway, I need some opinions. I find it difficult to speak to my aunt because I have to be careful in what I say because I don't want to insult her in any way. I'm still not really happy with the empire waist either. I think it should fit a little closer to my body (it barely touches me) to at least give me some shape where I have it. I dunno, maybe it's just me with bad body image right now! lol Whew, ok, that was my longest post so far! lol

Love the dress Lisa! You're so lucky to have one custom made! I agree with the waist though.... I think it might look better if it was pulled in a bit, but otherwise it looks perfect!!

Lisa-You look radiant! I love your dress. You look so beautiful. I like the strap in the first picture the best-not the spaghetti strap, but the zig-zag looking lace one. I think it looks great on you!

I agree as well that the empire waist should come in a bit more, although I didn't know how it fit on you. I think that should really be an easy fix. I know its hard to make sure your aunt understands and does what you want w/out being hurt in anyway! I don't really know how to say it other than, I'd really like this waist to come in some more.

 

I really wish you could do strapless! I think its really great perfect. If you empire waist was taken in and you had a bit of boning that might help alittle? If you have to have straps I think I really like the spaghetti strap.

I really want to do the strapless thing too! I'm saddened that it's not working out too well. I'm heading out shortly to see if I can find a better strapless bra. hopefully I can! cross your fingers!

oh and there is boning in the dress, which I can't feel and I don't think it's even doing anything. I really wanted the dress more formed to my breasts, I gotta show off the one good thing I have! lol

I think maybe the boning needs to be closer to the body. But i don't know, I couldn't make a wedding dress!

 

Good luck!!! I hope you find an amazing bra!!!! If you do don't wear it til the wedding so it doesn't stretch at all and really holds up the goods!
