Hey ladies,

I sent my invites out early on April 1st with a June 1st RSVP date. Our wedding is October 11th. I received a lot of responses back, but am missing a lot. Even 1 bridesmaid and 1 groomsmen haven't returned it. When should I say something and how?

I suggest sending a personal email, or calling those people who have not yet responded. I wish we would have done that, we may have had a higher turn-out. But we learned our lesson and in planning our at-home reception, this is what we will do!

Good luck!

Chantal

I would say if you've negotiated a group rate that requires a certain number of guests to be booked and you have yet to achieve that number, then call/email before the deadline. If you've reached the required number to secure the group rate, then it's really up to you. And if you haven't negotiated a group rate and numbers are not an issue, same thing. Obviously the sooner you know what numbers you are dealing with, the better!!!

I have come to realize that some people just won't send the RSVP card back. I have several guests that have already booked their trip, but never sent me an RSVP. It is frustrating b/c not all of my guests booked through my TA, so it is hard to keep track of who is actually coming. Sometimes people don't realize that it does cost extra to include an RSVP card with your invitation and that it wasn't put in there just to look pretty. You are actually supposed to send it back. Sorry... just had to vent a little! :)

We sent an Save the Date through Destination Weddings.com (9 months before) and then sent an evite (7 months before). And we just sent out invites mid May (Wedding July 5) only to those who already booked and RSVPed yes. The Evite has been an amazing tool for us. I got the idea from a friend doing a DW.

We used the Evite in stead of the RSVP card. Then we sent invites to only those who RSVP'ed, we have 30 people attending... this has worked well..

So maybe send an Evite. Also Pingg is a really cool site. This will help you contact everyone at teh same time and help you keep track of everyone.

This may not help you...as it might be too late since you have already gotten some RSVP's back, but anyone else having this same issue may be able to benefit.

Good luck!

I'm having this problem with my bridal shower, my mom set an rsvp date of June 13th but was getting antsy because none of my friends were RSVPing so I just facebook messaged or text messaged them to say that I understand if they can't make it but just let me know one way or another, I sent it over the weekend and not everyone has responded yet but it is still before the date. But I don't think it is a bad idea to send out a message a week or so before the due date just to remind people, I know I wouldn't mind a reminder wink.gif

No one is sending our RSVPs back either - although we only sent the invitations 2 weeks ago. I hope you get a better turnout than I do.

I sent out an email to all the guests a couple days ago. I have not gotten any RSVPs back but a few guests did call the travel agent.

*Sigh*

If people do not respond by August 31st (even though I have a 6/30 RSVP date for head count) I am going to assume they are not coming.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
