Nicole - you will love it! We kind of made up our own menu based upon a 2008 menu I had from the Hilton when I initially booked and putting together different pieces from the 2009 menu. We had several different appetizers for cocktail hour (mini pizzas, chicken quesadillas, chicken wontons, empanadas, mini meatballs, I'm forgetting a couple). The appetizers were beautifully served on little platters. For dinner I just asked for a mixed greens salad with balsamic vinagrette since I didn't care for the menu options, and the chef presented it in this amazing wonton bowl. Dinner was beef tenderlion with grilled baby veggies with a merlot reduction wine sauce and pureed potatoes - that wasn't an option either but I saw the merlot reduction sauce on another dish, maybe surf and turf and figured they could just make a tenderlion with the sauce. All the plates had little flowers decorating them too. I can't say enough about the plate presentation - everything was beautiful and tasted delicious. If you see a different combination or want to change something on the menu, just ask the Hilton if they can do it and to price it out for you - they're very accommodating - but you always have to ask.

Hi Michelle,

Thank you so much for your help. We chose a few menu options to try so I am very excited! Knowing that they can create what we want too if we want to change a few things is great to hear. The appetizers you chose sound wonderful. I was looking at the appetizers for the cocktail our but at $4-$6 a piece that seems really pricey to me. I am going to ask if we can do maybe just chips, salsa and guacamole for the cocktail hour to try and save a little there. What do you think?

I will certainly have some mini burgers for you! One more day..who hoo!

Nicole - I agree the appetizers are pricey. I think chips, guacamole and salsa would be fine for the cocktail hour too. You could add one or two passed apps if that didn't blow your budget, but I think you're fine either way. I initially wanted a soup course as well but I opted for heavy apps instead since having both blew my budget.

Have a ball - can't wait to hear about the site visit when you get back!

Hello!

Wow, just wanted to send you a note to let you know that your wedding review was VERY helpful. Ironically, I am getting married at the Hilton Los Cabos this December 13, 2009 and am using many of the same vendors (that I selected on my own including Juan Carlos Tapia (Photographer), Jennifer Hatton (Dessert Diva foot the cake), Violetta Poletek - violinist, Minister Marco Arechiga, and have been working with Dulce (Wedding Coordinator) and Tathiana Pinotti (Wedding Coordinator Asst) at the Hilton Los Cabos.

Dave, my fiancé and I had a chance to go to Cabo in April 16-19, 09 to do a pre-wedding vendor visit and were blown away with Hilton Los Cabos. The service is outstanding and every single employee that we encountered was so helpful, cheerful and seemed sincerely happy to assist in anyway possible. Not to mention the Resort itself is paradise, beautifully appointed guest rooms, breathtaking views, infinity pool is heavenly, excellent food/beverage etc.

At this point (5 months before the wedding) I am trying to decide on a dinner cruise vendor for our rehearsal dinner; Voila ~ with a random google search I found your review and YOU thankfully pointed me towards Sunrider Sunset), I had 2 other cruises to select from so wasn't sure what to do.

Also, Dave wants to gather his groomsmen and our dad's etc together for a deep sea fishing charter one day, as well. We'll now be contacting Baja Raiders (Judy and Baja Raider) thanks to you.

Congratulations on what sounds like an absolutely near flawless wedding and I wish you many years of health, happiness and prosperity in your marriage.

Thanks again for taking time to help other destination brides plan their special day.

Jill Topness

Rochester, Minnesota

Wedding Date: December, 13, 2009

PS We met Dulce (Hilton Los Cabos Wedding Coordinator) in person when we did our vendor visit in April and she is fantastic! Down-to-earth and she offered her opinion when asked which I really appreciated (when it was difficult for us to decide which way to go on various selections). i.e. menu choices etc.

Thanks for the great review. We're getting married at the Hilton in February and are planning a sunset dinner cruise for the RD. Thanks for the recommendation on the Sunrider. We may just go with them after seeing so many great comments from everyone on this forum.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
