Hey Ladies,

To answer a few pending questions.

1. The wholesaler Iâ€m thinking about using is called Whole Blossoms and they are out of Austin (where Iâ€m from). I havenâ€t made up my mind yet, it all depends on how easy they can ship the flowers and costs.

2. We are doing an iPod because we are both REALLY picky about music. My fiancé and many of his friends are musicians, so it was easier to get what we wanted this way. We are having a friend announce the wedding party, toast, etc. Iâ€ve hired my friend (who does events) to be my weekend coordinator while we are there and she is going to keep things running on time as well.

Tina, I know you must be getting ready for your trip soon. I cannot wait to hear your feedback and pictures. Please send ALL that you take. The more the better. :) I so wish I could go. Iâ€m traveling half of the fall for work, too bad itâ€s not anywhere near there.

Hope you are all doing well.

Best,

Rachel

are you having it right on the beach? i'm sure if there is an issue that hotel staff would kindly ask them to turn it down and be respectful. :)

Hey everyone! For those of you who have price quotes from the hotel on here- were those the original rates they gave you or did you work with them on the price? I received rates from Edgar, and they were a lot higher. The cheapest room is $94 per person per night for non-all-inclusive. And that's with blocking 25 rooms. Thanks!

What time of year are you going? Those were the original quotes that they gave. They had a special before, maybe its not running any more.

We're going in January. My fiance and I are staying January 6-16th with the wedding being on January 11th. Most of our guests are staying for 5 or 6 days. You're right about the special ending...the 40% discount ended in August. I'm so bummed! I wish they would've told us that, but oh well. Our new rates are:
All Inclusive
Superior *room**** $117.00 per person per night double occupancy
Dlux Suite $143.00 dls.
Premium Suite $157.00 dsl.
Platinum Suite $240.00 dls
Supplementary for single room add $40 usd x nt.

Breakfast
Superior *room***** $ 85.00 dls per person per night double occupancy
Dlux Suite $110.00 dls.
Premium Suite $125.00 dsl.
Platinum Suite $210.00 dls

I'm starting to panic because it's getting so close and I feel clueless about planning most of the time! In July my house burnt down, so my fiance and I lost everything, which really kind of took the fun out of planning. So now I'm trying to get everything back on track. I'm having trouble wording my invitations. Does anyone here have a good way to word an invitation that invites everyone to the wedding in Isla Mujeres and if they cannot come, there will also be a reception at home?

Thanks!
Kathleen

Hey Kathleen,

Gosh so sorry to hear about your house, that's horrible. Don't panic, you have 4 months, a lot can be accomplished in that time. The hotel takes care of most things so that should help w some of the stress.

If you think about it, compared to other hotels your rates are still good.

For your at home reception, I would suggest possibly a line on your rsvp card which gives them the option to rsvp for the at home reception.

Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
