Cost

Recommended Posts

I am trying to do a destination wedding, something I have wanted for a LONG time. I am finding that its pricey for my guests. What is the average cost, or how much did it cost your guests and for what hotel/destination? I am looking to see what is normal. I want to know if I am expecting too much of a deal.

Figure out what time of year you want to the wedding and do a search on travel sites for cost for 4 and 7 days for those dates. That is the length of time most of our guests are going for. We chose based on guest travel costs instead of what the wedding would cost us. Good luck!

I agree with the first two posters. Figure out where you want to have it, then start checking fares. I'm hoping to swing some deals with a few hotels around Cabo for my friends who aren't able to spend a ton of money. Really trying to keep it around $1300 or under per person for 3-4 days. Flights are really the main cost for them. From there you can always find great rates, and in Mexico, now is the time to start "negotiating" with hotels, etc. since they really want your business. Good luck!

I have managed to get it down to 850. PP for 7 days in a puerto vallarta with air

but its not on a big resort and it not AI but its right on the beach in are favorite part of town and there are lots of great and cheep places to eat and drink

the main thing for us was to make it so as many of are family and friends could afford to come

You should also consider looking into villas for your guests in cabo. There are several websites with beautiful villas throughout cabo. If you can get groups to stay together and split the cost it can end up being very affordable. Plus, they have their own kitchen to cook rather than spending money on eating out. cabovillas.com and vrbo.com are great places to start looking. Also, don't forget many airlines offer 10% discounts for groups - not a huge help, but every little bit helps!

We are having our wedding In June at Dreams Los Cabos. My FI and I went in April and spent $1800 (7 nts) but it was during spring break. We are planning for $1300-$1400/person (7 nts) and that would include airfare, hotel, food, alcohol, etc. (AI Resort). Personally I would go with an AI resort so your stay is stress-free. It's a great feeling to have everything paid for and you can gorge in all the food and drinks you want! :) This sight has a lot of helpful information! Find out the location and time of year and search on BDW forum for the rest! Enjoy the planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
