I just got an e-mail from Chandalyn. She just reserved a section of St. Ann's for 50 people for the rehearsal dinner. I will probably have to change the number once we get an accurate idea of the number of guests. Just wanted to let you guys know that she will reserve a section for more than 30 people.

Thanks! I'll contact her about this. Did you have to pay extra for it?

Mo, I'm glad you got everything worked out, that sounds like a good plan. I don't think anyone will be offended about the rehearsal dinner. That is normal to have a dinner with the wedding party, they probably won't think twice about it.

Chandlyn also emailed me yesterday. She said that the $10 per person for Seagrapes is $10 total not per hour.

Also, Carolina at RIU emailed me to say that there are no cancellations on the day of my wedding yet and that there is no way I can be moved to a later timecrybaby2.gif I'm thinking I may call them next month just to check again. I also offered to pay extra to have my wedding moved to 5:00, but she said ministers and judges don't work after 4:00 in Jamaica. Oh well!

Lizz - that is just not true! My wedding is at 5 pm on a Saturday on May 17th at Beaches. I did have to pay extra for the "twilight" ceremony which included a package, but I cant recall now what and I have that info at home...

I have a quick question for you all - is Mammee Bay and Seagrapes a part of the Riu? I am wondering cuz the prices are great, I wonder if I could book our reception there (or if there are other options nearby). Here is the price list options I was provided: (I would like to have a reception down there, but can't afford the $75/pp which is the option that I like)

*** Your reception choices for all onsite guests are as follows:

$15pp after the 2nd guest :basic cocktail reception includes cake, champagne, and cold hordourves

$25pp private cocktail reception includes cake, champagne, hot and cold hordourves and an open bar for one hour

$50pp dinner only reception includes a 4 course dinner with an open bar for 2 hours.

$75pp private cocktail and dinner reception includes cake, champagne, hot and cold hordourves, open bar for 3 hours and a 4 course dinner.

Wow, those prices are crazy! Yes, they are a part of the RIU. You should definitely see if you can book your reception there, it's right next door, isn't it? (Then we can hang out too!)

Carly, I will let you know all about Evita's when I get back from class. I'm late!

BYE!

Oops, I thought Beaches was close to the RIU...sorry Carly! Let us know what you end up doing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
