Hi

We just started planning and it looks like we will have at least 50 people at the wedding. I am looking around at hotels and most of the packages have a limit of 20 people (or you have to pay extra) and was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and knows of any accommodating resorts.

Thanks

I agree with Jess. I think most of the hotel standard packages are for 20, but you can always do add ons. The hotels should work with you to give you a good deal.

Also, since you are having 50 guest, some places may automatically add on the basic package for you.

Best of luck and let us know what you find out.

I am having around 50 too and my resort package was for 20 but like the other girls said the resort just quotes you a fee for the extra people. I think mine is around $55 pp extra for food and drinks. Just email the WC at any resort you are interested in and she will be able to let you know!

I got married at Vallarta Palace on May 16th. Because we had 48 guests, we had enough room nights booked by our guests to get our stay for free, plus unlimited private receptions. They didn't limit the number of people on the packages, because the functions were all free. I would check out the Palace Resorts website and look at their free package (which we used, and just added on photos and the cake.) I have made a couple of other posts about our perks and experiences here in the PV portion of the forum that might give you some additional helpful info. We never paid an extra penny for anything regarding any of our guests - in fact, our guests were gifted $250 spa credits and $250 golf credits from the resort, so they were all happy campers! PM me if you have any questions, and good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
