Ceremony decoration/seating

Recommended Posts

Really quick before I head to work smile35.gif,

I'm having a hard time coming up with something I love for the guests at the ceremony. I don't want to do chairs as the price to set up and decorate was about $300 for 20 guests to use for 10 minutes max, but at the same time, I'm not a fan of having everyone just standing around w/o any type of decorations.

I'm saw someplace that a bride did a bunch of pillows and thought that was kinda neat, what is everyone else doing?

thats a good question. i havent given it too much thought but am considering having the programs on each chair with some kind of weight to hold them down so they don't blow alway in the wind. If I tie them with ribbon and add a few charms I figure it's a cute way to spice up the ceremony set up, and i dont have to hassel with packing a bunch of chair bows, aisle runners, etc... plus then no one has to hand the programs out :)

That's a great pic! Those colors are the ones that we are using, so it gives me a good visual of how nicely the arch looks with the flowing fabric. I just might have to check out a local fabric store to see if I can find our colors to bring downs with us.

I just love the pillow idea...... hope it all works out great for you! My FIL is an ol' Portuguese guy, belly and all,and I just can't picture him sitting and them having to get up from sitting on the beach lol I wish though.... it's such a good idea. Different. Happy planning.

I think the pillow idea is cute and fun! Especially if your ceremony is short and you don't have a lot of older people there. I would consider this too but I think my parents would freak...they would want a chair for them and their friends for sure!

I love that pillow set up! I was just talking about this. We rented a house to hold the ceremony/reception. Theres a gazebo type thing on the property but I really wanted to be on the beach. The problem is its a bit of a walk to the beach. Defintely to far of a walk to carry chairs, etc.

I wonder how hard it would be to get music out to the beach though.....

Yeah, the ceremony is going to be short. I'm writing it and not getting super mushy (this was my fiance's request) and much to both my parents dismay, I'm doing a secular ceremony.

I'm using an ipod and docking station for music.

I think I've decided to do the pillow thing. I'm going to pop over to JoAnn's before work and take some prices and item numbers for fabric. I'm just oging to make them instead of buying as they are. I'll buy the pillows from IKEA since they're all vacuum packed.

My colors are aqua, black, and white...what do you think would look best?

1.Black blankets, white and aqua pillows

2. White blankets, aqua and black pillows

3. aqua blanket, white and black pillows

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
