May I ask what kind of deal you got? Seeing if it's worth it for me to go check another TA out, see what kind of group rate I can get.

hmmm - is now really the best time to buy everything, attire-wise?? i didn't think about that, but i guess so because of the end of summer sales and beach stuff won't be readily available in the fall/winter. shoot - thanks for making me think about this!! my turn to poo and get off the pot. shots.gif

Martine,

Yes, Julie is my planner too and mentioned there was someone else booking the plane! That's too funny. So we will be there together! Travelling and at the same hotel and marrying on the same beach. That's awesome! I checked out the boat ride. It looks gorgeous... then I remembered that a relative of mine doesnt like to be out on the water! Oh well. You are having a wood arch built there or do you have to ship stuff? I will be using turquoise/tiffany blue too, so as I mentioned, if I need to bring the chair sashes, etc, you are welcome to use them first as your wedding is before mine. I just need them back for Monday and I think caribbeanlover wants them too. We can work it all out as we get everything organized. We can all meet down there and plan it! This is so exciting!

Caribbeanlover,

I have the same TA as Chicken. We were given shorter deadlines. For our group, the cost was about $1350 out of Ottawa and $1290 out of Montreal. She was able to secure the rate for one month. Our group has until the end of August. Although some people have told me they are going but just not booking now. We shall see about that one!

We will def have to meet have a drink and plan everything, who is using what and when.

I'll def use the sash, I'll be putting the GM abd BM in turqrise or aqua (close enough)

1290$, currently my guest can book 10$ cheaper on one of the sites I provided them with on my wedding website. But I will still go see about a TA and what kind of group rate. But I'll have to wait until Oct 1 as thats the dead line for the rsvp

getting more and more excited!!

They will built it for me for an extra charge. Same here, I will be bringing a lot of decorations down, so since I'm getting married before you girls, if you need anything, let me know. It will be my pleasure to lend it to you :-)

Thank you Chicken764 thats supper nice of you. Same goes with me. I think we should list everything one wants to get, see if it matchs then maybe we could split the cost of something we all want. Just an idea! personnaly I don't care if I don't come back home with decor I brought down,(don't have room for it anyways! hehe)

Wow I just found this thread, and already I feel so behind. I need to find a dress ASAP so I can catch up. Well I am getting married on April 17th at Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico. My uncle will be doing our symbolic ceremony their and I hope our legal wedding when we get back (we live in different states so fingers crossed he will stick around to do both) we have no one official booked, but we have heard by word of mouth that a lot of friends and family are interested in going. We shall see...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
