April 2010 Brides

I should hopefully have my real touch flowers my the beginning of next week so Suzy and I will be hard at work soon after (since I don't have time to wait!!). Tracy don't think that your flowers are crappy at all! Each of us will have a different idea of what suits our own weddings & personalities etc anyways so even if we all used the same things, there would be a ton of different results.

I've got the house to myself this evening so I'm being a powerhouse and trying to get through a whole bunch of stuff on my list. It's amazing what I can do without having to take care of FI all night LOL!!! Tonight on the hit list - favour boxes!

My sister and I are also colouring my hair tonight as we go. It's going to take a couple steps so we'll do a bit now, and the rest - like highlights - right before we leave for MX.

aww thanks!!

I wish you 2 all the luck for making them as fast as possible.

LOL I know the feel, when FI is at work during the day a lot gets done, once 5 hits, it's all over!!

ohh nice of her to do that for you. Are you dying it the normal colour you usually go for?

I wanted to dye my hair but I never do, so I didn't want to screw anything up. But I have 3 different colours all natural. I guess it being up you wont be able to tell as much... ? I hope lol.

SuzQ - That bouquet is beautiful! I'm so jealou, fyi...

Thanks for the top for the blurp print thing, I've never heard, or would have been able to find, such a thing. I will def look into for our wedding album.

I picked up my wedding band yesterday, and fi gpa's wedding band that I'm giving to him as a wedding gift. AND I cried the whole way home from Dallas (like 1 hr drive) and they were not tears of joy! I do not like my wedding band at all. It looks like a mens ring. I have to drive all the way back to Dallas tomorrow to see if I can have it fixed in time for us to leave. I'm so upset about this sad.gif

Sorry the pics are so big. How do I make them smaller??

Obviously I don't have the dantiest, prettiest hands in the world. FI custom made my ring, everything about it is unique. I wanted a wedding band that would match the side detail of the e-ring, and something that was large enough to sit next to the e-ring. I had the wedding band custom made by the same guy the made my e-ring. He did a really good job, it's just not what I wanted I guess... It just looks far to wide (like top to bottom) than what I had really wanted.

What do you ladies think, and be honest. You can't make me feel any worse!

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry that you don't like it! I don't think it looks like a man's ring myself but the most important thing is how you feel! I agree with Tracy- worse comes to worse if you don't have time before the wedding just have it done afterwards. I'm really sorry that you're so upset- that is a shame.

ETA- your hands are fine! They look pretty small and dainty to me!

ETA2- I honestly do like it. Your e-ring is gorgeous, too! Your FI did an amazing job getting that made.

I like it too!!! But like Mel said it's def all about how you feel about it, after all it's only you wearing it for the rest of your life.

Mmmm.. maybe adding a few dimonds on the sides, if it;s way out of the budged (sorry to say this) but crystals. I just bought my wedding jewellery and they are crystal and they are so close alike.

Maybe it's to think on the top? is that what you don't like? Maybe the guy can shave it down a bit on the top.

I don't know,I like it!!!

YEs, def nice looking hands lol (talk about hands, you should see my thumbs.. got them from my mom, but their chucky as ol' heck! so don't feel bad!!!)

Very pretty!! :)

Absolutely love your E-ring, FI did one hell of a job on it. Lucky girl you!!! I had to go shopping for mine, after 6 years together FI still didn't know what I wanted! lol!!

I can never keep up on this thread, too much traffic, and it seems nobody's working regular day hours! Soo much new stuff between the time I go to bed and I get back from work.

I think the band is real pretty by itself, but understand how you could think it's a "man ring", since it's quite large, and that's more evident sitting next to your engagement ring. Sure hope they're able to something for you, but have no idea what! I'm happy that my jeweller makes sample of his work in silver first for review, testing and approval. We made quite a few little seemingly insignificant changes to ours after that!

Aww Jenna I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time with your wedding band! I can relate a little bit with finding a big change between your two bands when they're separate vs. together because I was having a bit of the same problem. If you saw my e.ring on it's own, you'd only notice the solitaire that i've got, and if you saw my wedding band alone you'd think it was the skinniest tiny little thing ever (sugar crystals are larger than the diamonds in my wedding band LOL!). But when I wear them together all of a sudden the overall look seems a heck of a lot bigger than what I'd pictured from the two separate items.

The girls are right that it's totally how you feel when you're wearing your rings - and if it feels like they take up your entire finger from knuckle to knuckle then don't at all feel bad about wanting to change it to something that you like better!

You have to remember that you paid the jeweller to make your ring. You paid for his services. So if you aren't happy with the final product then it's totally your right to say something about it and work with him to get it fixed. It's true that you might not get it done quite in time for your actual wedding, but don't let that stop you from getting what you really want. And don't be sad at the thought of maybe not having it for your ceremony either - a lot of couples don't feel safe traveling with their expensive jewelry and just use substitutes anyways!

If it makes you feel any better, we've had FI's ring sitting at home for months now and just two days ago decided that we weren't entirely sure if the size was right so we ordered a completely new ring (it was all online) because we didn't think we had time to do an exchange! If the smaller one doesn't come before we leave, we're just hoping he doesn't lose the larger size while we're in Mexico!!

Wait and find out what your options are before you get too far into panic mode - it might be an easy fix afterall!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
