April 2010 Brides

tracy i think you got some great stuff! one tip that my photographer had before my shoot was to bring a variety of accessories if you have them. the little touches (like your necklace and shoes) add a little spice to the pictures!!

you might want to try anything like a target or walmart and see if they have those chicken cutlet-looking inserts. you can put them in a regular bra to give you a little boost up! i actually have some to wear for the wedding too and i got them at target i believe.

tracy - to add to erin's comment of the little cutlet type things, if you have a la senza (or la vie en rose) anywhere near you then you can definitely get them there... or even try The Bay since I'm pretty sure they would have some. The best kind would probably be the stick-on ones since they you wouldn't have to wear a separate bra which just wouldn't work as you said.

Another thought for outfits is just to use a cute pj set with a little tank top and boy shorts or something. FI always says that as much as he likes the lingerie, he's quite happy with a little tank top and a pair of sweats!

LOL actually last night I was hanging around the house in a fitted cotton shirt with no bra on and he was going a little crazy for it. Here I am thinking that I look like a slob and he's ready to throw me down on the bed! HAaha, sorry for the description but really it shows you how differently guys minds work!!!

Thanks guys for the suggestions! I'll go buy those over the weekend I know exactly what your talking about, I think the stick in ones would be best, I'll just stick them to the lingerie bra.

I don't have any accessories at all, I actually bought the necklace and it was $10!! so I kinda don't want to buy anything more then I really have to. If you really think I should get another one for the black outfit I guess I could, but like what ? any ideas? I am horribe with fashion lol.

LOL Meghan, your to cute! Yup me too the FI as much as he may like lingerie he thinks I am most sexiest when I am in my comfy pj's, no make- up and hair thrown up in a mess. But I only have a half hour session, so either I take out the hockey jersery, and add the cute 'pj's' (which is totally me.. hang out in my pjs all day long lol) or just keep the jersery? what do you think?

I totally have a La Senza and Vie au rose, I'll go to walmart first see if I can find them cheaper if not I'll go to La sezna, since I bought a card to get 10% off every item I buy!

hehe an fyi... the stick-on kind are meant to stick on to YOU! there are a couple different styles that can help provide lift and cleavage using a little plastic strap that connects the two cutlets to each other, similar to the little band across the front of your regular bras. So walmart might be a bit cheaper but the other stores (any bra store I would guess!) would likely have the best selection.

And I say go for the jersey! If he's a huge hockey fan then he'll definitely enjoy it.

What are you doing as 'favour' for your guest if not OOT bags?
I'm doing OOT bags - They're almost done - I have to finish the hangover kits - once I get shoveled out...lol..I just need to get some bags and pepto - I have Excedrin already and little stickers to go on them.

So I've never worn anything like this before, the sales lady had to show me how to wear it lol (How embarrassing!!)
I have a question (another embarrassment) I am very flat chested and I feel like these lingerie aren't doing any justice to that area. Is there anything I can wear to push things up and make it a little fuller?
I know a normal bra wouldn't work as you'd see it. So any suggestions would be amazing. I don't have a victoria secret around here, and it's not worth ordering from there with the duty fee's
I love all of them - agree with Erin to bring other accessories...Love the shoes too. the photographer may also be able to pose you in ways that make you look like the "girls" are bigger.

I am usally the quite one believe it or not!!!! I guess the wedding has opened me up! lol

Michele, I love your vail, and your new SUV, you must feel so much safer in it. Question, it is really hard on gas? I'd love to have somthing like that especially when i have a baby to drive around. It can get real crazy around here with weather.

It actually gets really good gas mileage - 22mpg in town, 28 on the highway - way better than the mustang!
I definitely don't miss the snow, if I look out side I see green!!!! (some snow but not a lot)

I am jealous of all you girls who have hardly anything left to do. I have so much and it's all about the OOT bags and my obsession with having to personalized labels on everything. I at least decided my hair style for the wedding. But still a lot to buy and put together.

I figured out my hair too - I really didn't think I'd have this much trouble and i changed my mind from my original
Meghan, I am home all day and I feel I never get anything done, phone is ringing , people are buzzing.. then I have this site!! So good for you girl for getting a lot done yesterday. It'll be my turn today to get a lot of stuff done and out of the way.
I go for my boudoir session Wednesday, sooo nervous.. anyone else doing this?
Haha My FI said no tiara!! lol I was a tad dispointed but not overly. I guess his allowed his style too lol. and I couldn't choose one so better off

Ok I think I caught up!
I originally wanted a tiara - AND already have one which someone gave me as a joke...but when it came down to it, I like the veil in the back much better.

Oh and speaking of chatty - I have over 2000 posts...this site is an obsession!

jeez michele - stop talking for once! LOL! Kidding!!!

Well think about it... you joined BDW about five months before me and I've got just over 700 posts now so that doesn't seem all that awful?! Or maybe its just that I talk a lot too so I'm not the person to compare with hahaha!

I'm almost done my OOT bags too! I officially ordered my mugs so once they route through a friend in Florida they'll be ready to add in, and after realizing that putting together a little puzzle booklet for all the bags was going to be too much cost and effort, I've just been buying sudoku books from the dollar store. The trouble with those is they come out in 'editions' much like your Readers Digest would so I have to wait in between purchases for the new ones to come in. I'm trying not to get too many repeats which is ridiculous since there are so many puzzles in each book! But aside from that it'll just be assembling all the goodies the way I want them!! Woohoo!

LOL!!!!! OMG how ebarrassing again!!

see I really never have worn anything like this. That's kind of better that it sticks to me, your righ, bra stoes will be much better to shop at, and they have sales lady who can help me, not so much at walmart.

He is a huge hockey fan so I'll just keep with the jersey

Thanks so much!!!

hee hee don't be embarassed! If you've never bought or worn them how are you supposed to know!

And it can't be as embarrassing as when I was dress shopping and my friend with me was the one asking "do you have the 'these' to go in 'here' to make them do 'this' for her?" complete with all the hand gestures of inserting padding for my boobs to give them some cleavage and oomph!

Oh my goodness, I don't get on here for 1 day and y'all chat so much I've got 5 pages to read! Good Gravy!

I've done a lot of nude modeling before and it's not as bad as you think. Once you get your clothes off and in front of the camera it doesn't feel so sleezy. My first shoot I took my time and that helped a lot b/c I didn't feel rushed or pressured. Now I have no problem gettin' nakid for the camera... probably not good. Have fun with the camera and it will love you!

My wedding plans are virtually nonexistant. We're having a super small wedding (only his parents and sister, and my mom, step dad, dad and step mom) so their's not a lot to plan for. We're not going OOT bags so that saves a lot of time and money. We didn't do STD or send out wedding invites (we sent a mass email instead).

We DID get our ahr invites out and they are fantastic! We bought them at Target and had them printed at Staples. We sent out 100 invites and RSVP's and it only cost us $80 (w/o postage of course) I'm totally extatic about this!

Before we sent these out my plans were absolutely nonexistant, but they gave me a great idea. Our invites say "paradise found" and I want to carry this on to be the wedding "theme". I decided that I wanted our colors to be white and dark blue (think midnight blue), and I wanted to carry a boquet of white calla lillys wrapped in a dark blue ribbon. So, I thought I would make a sign out of white poster board and sponge paint "paradise found..." w/ a starfish in midnight blue, and maybe a "shoe's optional" sign. Oh, and maybe have dark blue sashes/ties on the chairs at the wedding... hmm...

We would really like to do something special for everyone that won't be able to make it our wedding. We have a huge family and circle of friends, but hardly anyone can come due to various reasons.

On a side note, we've gotten 6 inches of snow today! :) I live in Fort Worth so we don't ever get this much snow. Actually, we're only about 1 inch away from beating the record snow fall which we should meet by midnight! WOHOO! Not nearly as much as what everyone else gets, but this is the most snow I've seen in years (I grew up in Vermont)! YAY for snowy days filled with cuddling and hot coco!

I'm so glad that I found a thread just for April 2010 Brides....yippee!!!! Just from reading through some of the posts I was able to find a new mug vendor....promopays.ca. For any of you ordering from discountmugs have you had to pay crazy duty amounts? And Tracy I love all of your boudoir outfits :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
