So for a week I'd pick like 3-4 bottoms, then maybe 9-10 shirts that could go with hopefully at least two bottoms so that I can still have a little bit of variety in what I mix and match. Add in a couple sundresses, a couple cover-ups, a couple sweaters and a whole heck of a lot of bathing suits!! And don't forget that I usually expect to buy the odd item down there too :) Packing for the wedding will be my challenge too because of the additional wedding wear, pretty rehearsal dinner wear etc. I'm such a casual person otherwise!! But the best part is that i've got this one dress that I bought like a year ago because I loved it even though I had nothing specific to wear it for. So I'm totally going to wear it for my rehearsal dinner.
LOL I think I'm going to steal your idea's on packing, #of tops to match # of bottoms. I don't know why I dind't think of that myself!!
Your new dress, sounds perfect!!
So are you picking an a la cart do to a rehearsal? or are you paying extra for this?
I like the idea of a rehearsal dinner, why are you doing it? or are you doing it to have something to do with all the guest? I may consider this. But I have nothing to rehease, lol

I love the first one for the beach feeling. The second is also very nice and pretty but I could see that more in a church wedding. The first one just looks very elegant but cool and breezy.

Let us know which you end up deciding!!

Well I use the term "rehearsal dinner" pretty lightly. Basically I know that FI's family especially will want to have a dinner or whatever that doesn't involve all of our friends (they seem to think we're over-accommodating for our friends as it is..grrr) so I figured that we could go to dinner the evening before our wedding and just make sure they're all up to speed on our plans for the following day and whatnot. FI's family will get very frustrated if they don't feel as though they have some schedule to work by, seeing as we'll likely be too preoccupied to help them out the day of the wedding.

Honestly, neither of our families really have any involvement in our plans or execution. Not that we're trying to be cruel in this aspect, we're just both so independent as it is. The dividing factor, however, is that MY family is okay with this and HIS family feels like we're trying to screw them over. So yes, I'm trying to be the "Good new DIL" that is marrying their son and wants to be part of their big happy family by arranging a lovely family dinner (Please tell me you can read the attitude dripping off that last comment!!!).

HAHA, so i suppose that's my drawn out way of saying that YES we will just be going to one of the a la carte restaurants for this because I don't want to be paying for something that I'm doing just to "make nice" and satisfy everyone else.

That aside, we're going to try and arrange a time for welcome drinks with our entire group although I have to work out the details on that still. Funny enough, the flight that FI and some of our group arrives on is the latest in the day from any other flight so when we get to the resort, a number of other guests will already be settled in and waiting for us. Normally that wouldn't be a problem except that FI's grandparents are included in the early-arrival group and wouldn't likely feel too appreciative of a 10pm Welcome Party!! Although I plan on starting my night as soon as my feet are inside the resort!! Again.... details....

We are doing the same, and I cant seem to iron out any details other than the fact that I have to choose a place and time and hopefully it'll work out when we get there because I want to print a "schedule" on our brochure...
All our peeps are arriving at separate times and out of many different gateways so I actually am planning on doing the big meet and greet pretty late too...maybe even the next day like a breakfast or brunch. I don't know how it's going to work all I do know is that it's all making my head spin and I wish we hadn't told anyone and just gone and "get it done"!! lol But....it'd kill our family so here I am stressing about welcome cocktails and keeping everyone happy!
My only saving grace is the fact that we had 75 adults and 15 kids at our son's 1st birthday and we'll only have 50 adults and 8 kids at the wedding so it should be manageable! And for those of you thinking we're totally nuts and went way overboard for a birthday You are totally right! lol, but we are living 5000 kms away from family and friends, so it was also a way to see everyone in one big party, and it was his 1st Birthday and he's the first Grandchild on FI's side and our little miracle!
What's even worse then trying to figure out meet & greet crap is since February I've been dreaming of drinking tequila on the beach and all this planning stress has caused me a stomach ulcer! (well that's what I'm blaming it on anyway!) Any sip of alcohol creates immense pain so now I have to get this cleared up ASAP just so I can drink my face off!! lol Priorities right! But hey, I don't get out much especially with a kid and no family to babysit!! So not only do I have to get toned I have to heal my insides too!!! Which is even causing me MORE stress!! lol

OMG suzy! BREATHE! LOL!

1) you ARE nuts for having that many people at a birthday party, but I can totally understand too.

2) I like your idea of doing a welcome breakfast and just might do that, so long as I make sure to get around to everyone and let them know we've arrived (as if they wouldn't be waiting for ME of course!)

3) I have stomach problems too and my family doctor was able to try me on a couple different medications that help limit the amount of acid your body makes in your stomach. Something like that might help enough to let your stomach heal itself - which is the route i had to go, and it can take a good few months too. And after that it's just good old moderation to follow. And the pills in your back pocket just in case. I also had to see a gastro doctor. If you're having serious problems though it's prob. worth a trip to the doctors so you can enjoy your trip!

4) Is your little tiger feeling better these days? Maybe we could get out to the mall next week one evening...

I have to run to make dinner, I just wanted to comment quickly with your ulcer Suzy, Take it from me who gets ulcer's on a monthly bases (due to my crohn's disease) that should be your # concern!!!! Don't make me go there and sit there watching over you to make sure this is your only thing to worry about right now, not toning and def not wedding planning.

We still have time, and it seems like most of the 'MOST IMPORTANT' things you've done already. Take a break from everything, and try your hardest not to think about any wedding stuff and toning/working out. Trust me, I am giving true advice. I also hope your taking meds for it, because it can become an even bigger problem. We all really want you to be at your wedding, healthy, glowing.. and not in pain or ill where you can't eat, or even enjoy an alcohol drink!

ok I can go back to wedding talk lol!

YAY!!!! MAll Trip!!! lol

I do need to breath, typical me though - if I can obsess over something I will!! lol I do have to get to the doctor, I know I need to just get checked and then concentrate on getting healed! It's not like I drink massive quantities of alcohol!! lol First off, after having a baby and not drinking your entire pregnancy or while nursing you have no tolerance - 1 beer or glass of wine and I'm good to go! But if I want to have that beer or wine I want to make sure it's safe to drink.
Our little tiger is feeling better, still a little runny but he's definitely back to normal energy capacity!!
My BIG tiger on the other hand....well he is now sick and I tell ya, I'd rather a sick little baby than a Big Sick Baby!!! lol

check out this link if you want a BIG laugh - because this is EXACTLY what I'm dealing with minus the British accent!! I do love a good British accent though....hehe! I hope the link works because this is possibly one of the funniest and most True things I've ever seen!! lol Laughing just thinking about it!

Yes Mam!!!!
I know it's just a pain in the a$$ going to the doctor for myself! It seems something else always comes up and I always get sidetracked.
I promise to make my appoint. as soon as I get off this forum!!
It's painful and it's annoying, I want to be able to eat and drink whatever I want!! I'm not used to having limitations! lol
The only meds I'm taking right now are all ever the counter, I'm just kind of maintaining it...I am buying the strongest of everything though!
I'll call the Doc right now :o) I promise!

Ok just got off the phone with the Doc office and I' booked in for next Fri, Oct 30!! Let the healing begin a week from today! Hopefuly there will be tequila in my future! :o) Yum!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
