Mel - thanks for mentioning where you ordered FI's ring from! We'd been looking at a few at the mall the other week and seriously I have THE most passive guy EVER when it comes to picking one. And sounds like they're good with service to Canada which is a plus!

Maybe some of you can confirm something for me... I thought I had read that unlike titanium, the tungsten rings are more "medically safe" because in case of an accident they can be cut off. Then when I was at a jewellers, the woman working said that they could NOT be cut off, but later as part of a different topic admitted that she was quite new... so I really wasn't sure if she'd just made a mistake and mixed it up with the titanium afterall. Comments?!?!

Erin - I am totally going to check out the site for the flowers! I do have a bouquet for myself included in my wedding package but like you said, it can be used for anything I want, and I'd rather my girls and I all have great looking flowers as a group!!

You can actually break them off with vice grips- there is a way to do it by applying pressure (to the ring, not the finger lol), there's a video on youtube demonstrating this if you look for it. I'll try to find a link to it from FI when I get home. My FI is a nurse, and he thinks a lot of the bigger ERs probably know how to do this already, but he showed me the video just in case. He's thinking about making an instruction card or something for his wallet lol. The company we bought his ring from will replace it for you if you have to have it removed or if your finger changes size.

Shannon, your jewelry is gorgeous. I donâ€t know what I will be wearing yet.

Thanks. It was a good trip, although we did about 22 hours total driving (Georgia to Illinois and back). We met up with my parents at my grandmotherâ€s house to pick up my four-legged babies. My parents kept my dogs for three months for me while I was traveling for work. My parents treat them like grandchildren since they don't have any human grandkids yet.

Lately, I've been trying to gather ideas for my bouquets, then I stumble upon ideas for my centerpieces, then I move onto the judge's table decorations, then shoes, then invitations, then music, then the first dance - to choreograph or not to choreograph, then cake ideas, then flight arrangements, then TTD dress and location, then groom's attire (SO late with this one)... AHHH!!!!!

My goodness! Sorry, I'm just venting. I feel like I am getting nowhere with this...Planning has taken a toll on me lol.

I so KNOW what you mean. My mind is going non-stop thinking of everything I need to do. Itâ€s even hard to get to sleep at night. But, my FI keeps reminding me of all of the things I have done so far in such a short time. And, he is right. But, that still does not keep me from thinking about everything that needs to be done!

You are quite welcome. I donâ€t really expect to have a final headcount myself until February. I know I will have to harass people to get confirmation of whether they will be coming to the wedding or not. I should have expected the lack of RSVPs though. I planned my family reunion last year and I ended up calling people on the phone, texting, and emailing repeatedly to confirm whether they were attending or not. They donâ€t realize how difficult it is to plan an event when you are not sure how many people are coming. And that the planner sets deadlines because they have deadlines to meet with the vendors. Oh well. It will all work out in the end I hope.

also, my amazing flower lady sent me pictures of her first stab at my bouquet... what do you think? (personally.. i'm in love!) the stems are going to be wrapped in strips of the fabric taken off my dress when it's shortened.

I had a great idea, or so I thought, to use fabric/lace from my Momâ€s wedding dress to make a garter (my mom would make it not me). Her dress has been hanging in the back of a closet in my grandmotherâ€s spare bedroom for 25 years (not preserved). We finally pulled the dress out of the closet this weekend and now she cannot bring herself to cut it. Itâ€s been sitting in a closet for 25 years! It will not be worn again. It's a size 6 dress, which I am far from and I'm pretty sure my only sister can't fit it either (even though she is smaller than me). So, I may have to come up with another idea for my “something oldâ€. Unless my mom changes her mind. I will give her a few weeks before I ask her again.

By the way, I really liked your bouquet. The finished product will be beautiful.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one- it seems like I get one thing done or figured out and then before I can catch my breath I need to do something else! shots.gif On top of that my head is constantly spinning with wedding ideas... and I'm trying really hard not to bore other people with it by always talking about the wedding... so FI hears most of it but I think he just tunes half of it out as a self defense mechanism! Thank goodness for this board!

Erin- Nov 8 works for me... unless you need some female support to come with you to your dress fitting on the 7th, I'm happy to do that too! If all else fails, we can hit up the Cheesecake Factory in Kenwood, they have an amazing raspberry martini! Is that super far away from where you are?

I think your flowers are going to be beautiful!!

I actually have a ton of "random wedding thoughts" saved on my laptop because I know I'll forget half the things I thought about doing or what I've seen/stolen from the forum!! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
