Haha, that's like me and FI but he has his fantasy sports teams to keep an eye on and I have BDW.
I keep telling FI - "My friends on the Destination Wedding board say"...he actually thinks it's interesting and good that I have something to keep myself occupied as he plays World of Warcraft!

nbulldog, your dress is beautiful!! you can't fight it when you find "the one", even if it isn't what you originally expected!

sarah, we are here to help! i think we're all at different stages, so it'll be nice to bounce ideas off each other!

i JUST posted my invitation thread... got them mailed out yesterday!

at first FI would laugh at me for how often i was on the forum, but now he too calls it "BDW" and when i have a new idea he immediately asks if i got it from a girl on here. he catches on quickly!

tonya thank you so much for your compliments!! i always hound FI because he leaves nail clippers out on our coffee table, but this one day they came in handy!!

also, i had to share with you all that i had my first guests call to book their trip! my TA is out of town until next Monday, but my FSIL and her husband (they are a bridesmaid and the best man) called her and set up a time to get them all squared away! my FMIL is having pretty severe surgery on Monday so I figured it would be a while before anyone really paid attention to the invites, but FSIL said that they needed something happy and something good to look forward to!

So I got my free invitations from VistaPrint this weekend. The paper quality is eh, but when I went back on VistaPrint, they don't have matching response cards or enclosure cards....my mom thinks I should just find something that blends....but I found invitations that I LOVE on WeddingPaperDivas.com that come with everything that I can get for under $200.

This is the invitation from VistaPrint - not a photo but from the website

and matching envelope which feels like just a regular envelope...so it seems a little cheesy for a wedding invite.

But then I found this on weddingpaperdivas.com and I LOVE THEM

They match my colors and they're just so pretty....I think I have to spend the $ and get the pretty ones.

Erin how is FMIL?

Erin, I've been using nail clippers for the corners bc of you now and they work great! lol and don't worry, my FI does the same thing.

jerseykitten, you're better off with the second set of invites.. those are a lot better than the vistaprint ones. the color and the design pops out more.

nj hunnie- congrats! we'll be getting married exactly one week apart at the moon palace! don't worry you still have awhile before you need to settle on a dress. I tried on a lot of dresses too before I found "the one". at least you have your STDs, mine are still in the process of being cut lol.

michele, the second ones are GORGEOUS! i've seen those invites at vistaprint and they're pretty, but if they aren't the quality you want, then it's not worth it! sounds like you'll get a great deal from weddingpaperdivas.com too!

and thank you SO much for asking about my FMIL! her surgery went REALLY well yesterday and they did not have to go as high up on her leg as they thought since she had good blood flow down most of her calf. last i heard today she wasn't having any pain or discomfort and was up, joking around and eating a TON! all good signs for her recovery!

victoria, i'm so jealous you get to keep dress shopping! while i'm happy i found "the one" on my first try it is such a fun experience! good luck and let us know if you find your perfect one!

tonya, how are the invites coming? i'm so glad the nail clippers are helping! at least our FIs can help with wedding stuff even when they don't mean to!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
