I am to be wed on April 20th!!! So excited I honestly can't wait....I have sent out my std magnets a couple of weeks back, and I'm waiting on the lady that doing my invites to come by so I can check them out.... If everything is to my liking, I will be mailing them out as soon as next week. My guests have till the end of October to book as the airline promised me 30 seats till the end of October. After that it's first come first serve. So in the r.s.v.p I asked that they reply no later that sep, that way I have a back up list of poeple ( which aren't familly) to send out and try and fill the seats that way....Is that wrong?

My dress is bought and paid for, my FI not sure what he wants to do, but he'd better poo and get off the pot if he wants to find something on sale...lol I have my daughters dress, and well my son is in the same boat as his father...nothing as of yet...lol I think I'm ahead of the game!!!

shankd,

which hotel are you getting married at?

Good for you having your dress already. I am one of those "I will be so much slimmer when April rolls around", so I am delaying as long as possible! And of course I just fell in love with Cymbeline dresses because they are soooo feminine... and probably cost an arm and a leg. Apparently there is one store in Toronto that sells them. I will have to call before I make the trip and find out what the average price is and if they have them in stock. I spoke to a lady at a bridal store a few weeks ago and she said that to be safe, I should be trying on dresses in October, so I still have a few weeks of weight loss to go!

We want to get married on the beach so I am not sure if my FI wants to be in just a nice pair of sandy beige pants and white shirt, or what the plan is yet. I guess I can't say anything until I have my BMs and Maid of Honor taken care of too!

Hi Ladies,

I'm an April 2010 bride too. I'm getting married on April 9th at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana and I can't wait. 30 people have booked already and I'm waiting on 10 more responses.

My photographer and videographer are booked as well as our reception venue" La Barcaza Restaurante" wedding boat.

I'm so excited :-)

Chicken.. welcome! So you are marrying at the Grand Palladium too! I will be there for your wedding.. I am getting married there on the 12th! Are you flying there on the 7th with Sunwing? I was also excited to see you are in Casselman. I am in Bourget just a few exits away!

What are your colors for your bridesmaids, etc? Have you decided on the gazebo or the beach? What is the Barcaza wedding boat? Was that something different that you booked separate of the hotel? Is the actual ceremony on the boat?

ebredhawk: Yep, Kleinfeld is the place where the "Say yes to the dress" show is filmed. Funnily enough, I've never seen the show! I've heard the girl who helped me out is on the show: Audrey Pisani. I had her full attention for the 1.5 hours I was there. It took me 30 minutes to select dresses with my sis and about 45 minutes to try on 10-15 dresses. The last 15 minutes I was basically finalizing my decision, which wasn't too hard to make. There was another Nicole Miller dress that was to die for, but it wasn't very wedding-y. The secret is trying not to describe it to the FI! I'm so bad at keeping secrets!

Yes actually I'm leaving from Ottawa on the 7th with Sunwing. Is your wedding palnner Julie Thivierge too? She told me that my group and another wedding group booked an entire airplane.

My bridesmaids are an Aqua/turquoise color. My wedding colors are chocolate brown and turquoise. So far we are having our ceremony on the beach and we are having a wood canopy made cause I didn't like the arch they had.

We are having our reception on La Barcaza. It's a 3 hour boat tour with dinner. They also stop at the Natural Swimming pool if our guests wants to dip a little. The boat is amazing and they even have a dance floor so will do our first dance and boogy a little after dinner. We took the sunset cruise so we are leaving the resort at 5:00 and getting back at around 9:00. It's separate from the hotel package. Here is their link if you are interested.

The deadline for the deposit was July 23rd, and we add a great deal so everyone took advantage of it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
