me too me too, I've been searching and searching. I loved the resort we were at, and they have some real good prices for the summer and in Sept, but you all know how it's hurrican season, is it even worth it? Or just wait until April again.. oh what to do what to do.
We got a nice gift from my parents, and we thought about buying a king size bed, but recently decided to safe it for another trip!
but also got to consider the husband vacation time (he only has 1 week left this year)

Have you decided if you'll go again,or just looking around?

I was watching the news and they said some of AB got 70cm of snow, OMG!!!!
We had a nice day at 20c (not to rub it in, in anyones face as we had our fair share of snow when we got home this week)

I feel you, we are the type of people who love to go to different resorts. But like you, we fell in love with the Grand Palladium in PC we want to go back there, especially at the royal suites (def royal!)

Do you guys have a lot of vacation time left? you only did 1 week in MX this time around, correct?

right now neither of us get paid vacation, which kind of sucks. His office closes down in August, which is when we take our big vacation - last year we did our motorcycle trip through New England - i think August might be too soon to do an island but i'd love to do an anniversary trip in April and I bet some of our friends would go too - I'd really like to go to Riviera Maya or Cancun or somewhere where we can leave the resort on our own - he was so against Mexico, but now that I've been showing him everyone's pictures he realizes it's not all like Tijuana (the only part he'd been to)!

Even if we just do a long weekend it will be nice. I'm hoping my job will go permanent which would help a lot and I'd get paid vacation.

We want to go back so bad too! We miss it so much, it was complete paradise! But, we're out of pto for the rest of the year, and hubby starts a new job, yes another new job, in two weeks, and I'm desperate to find something else. Good thing we have our house renovations to keep us busy otherwise we would be dreaming of vacation instead of dreaming of flooring!

Can't wait until I get some time to look through everyone's photo's!

well thankfully most of our snow has melted now, although yes there are definitely places in Alberta where that's probably not the case. Honestly we almost always get a late spring snowfall so I shouldn't be surprised. Even more sadly, it snows just about every year of the month here!! It snowed on my birthday last year - IN JUNE! That was a first for me living here in Calgary but it's a common theme for anyone who's lived here long enough.

I know that DH would definitely NOT tolerate another 8 months of planning! The first time nearly did him in anyways and neither one of us would want to deal with all the headaches that came up along the way. And even the wedding I don't think we'd want to do over. There's just too much build up and too much baby-sitting to try and make sure that everyone was involved and had a good time. He's always wanted to do a group trip away like this but I think next trip will have to be MUCH smaller to actually be enjoyable. I'd actually rather that our next trip is a solo one for the two of us (if that makes sense!) and somewhere we've never been - so overseas I think.

I guess overall I'm glad to say that we had the experience and I would probably regret if we didn't do it this way, but I'm still glad it's over now!

Actually we did 10 days in Mexico and I used up every bit of my vacation time! I even dipped into unpaid time by 1 hour. But lucky for me, while I don't get many vacation days per year during the time I'm working, I work for the school district so I get plenty of time off. It just is at designated times, like the summer, spring break or the holidays.

I've decided that after you get married you should have a mandatory 3-4 week vacation! We spend months and months or even years planning for this one day, get super stressed for long periods of time, lose sleep for weeks and months, and then all we get, if we're lucky, is a one week honeymoon. Hmmm, doesn't seem right!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
