What a cool idea a limo to the airport! It is your wedding after all. Still think we'll just take our car, I'll too stressed out about waiting to be picked up when I have a flight to take. What I've looked at in my case is a plane transfer between Montego Bay and the small Negril airport, but it would run us around 500$ round trip, to save 1-1.5h each way. A nice splurge, but I'm too cheapo for my own good I think!

I'm getting stressed out with everything I have to do this week. Packing, still a bit of shopping (sundresses, no Target up here Jenna, closest one is south of the border!), cleaning up the house a bit, it is a mess, and work! As if I wasn't already swamped, I told my boss I would do some other things that are normally out of my scope. So in the next 3 days I have to prepare my vacation: give out priorities & task lists to my team, tackle my daily job, get the ball rolling on a few things, and work/supervise this special project!! I've spent a few hours yesterday on my work laptop, and I feel I should be working instead of posting right now... I'll deserve this vacation!

On the positive side, we got our rings Thursday:

I know what you mean about feeling ready to get married when you get things- I feel the same way every time I get a package in the mail. It really makes it more real. I've been going into my spare room closet a lot lately just to look at all my wedding stuff again. Sad, I know, but I'm just so excited. FI is getting really excited too, I caught him playing with/wearing his wedding band the other day (I'm so glad that he found one he likes so much).

FI just booked us a limo to take us to the airport for our trip. We figured "why not, we're getting married, we should have a limo like everyone else." We're going to ride with two good friends and it should be a blast (the airport is about 45 min away from Halifax so it'll give us some time to enjoy it). Now he's all excited about that, too.

Thanks, I was very pleased with them! Yes 3 vases, 1 for each of us for our sand, and 1 for the person doing the ceremony, which will be Fi sister.

Exactly, getting all these things makes it feel so much more real, and the fact we leave so soon!!!

I can't believe it's so soon.

Ohhhh you guys are so lucky who's getting a limo or a town car. I begged and begged but it's $100 to take us to the airport and that is 20 mins away from us, so I have to agree with Fi it's just not worth it. He promised me one day tho lol.

Thanks Suzy!!

I feel you I had over a year and half, I should have half of the things I'm currently doing now already done.. not happy with my self in that area.

Again, I'm with you on the stress, and panic. But we all will get through it just like you said. Before we all know it our day will come and go just like that!

Tracy - Love your sand ceremony set. I was thinking about getting the heart one and decided against it, but now looking at yours I'm kinda regretting it a little.

Ewok - LOVE your rings, they're super pretty.

FI came home from Chicago this weekend, and I saw him for a total of 5 hours. He had his bachelor party this weekend, and all is good! They stuffed themselves full of BBQ in Austin and camped on the lake so it was very chill. I'm glad he had a good time, he needed a fun night. I'm really looking forward to spending 1.5 weeks with him, it'll be a nice change of pace.

I too did some last minute shopping this weekend. I don't know if you have a Ross in your area, and I dont' typically like that type of store, but I bought 10 sundresses for $60 this weekend! Pretty dang good deal if you ask me.

I got ALL of our wedding stuff packed this weekend, everything but the beach towels fit into 1 suitcase with a little room left. The beach towels are going into a duffle bag and being carried on. I would totally recommed everyone using the Space Bags as much as possible. They really saved my butt!

I pulled all of our summer clothes (its already in the 70's here), went through it all and wash everything. I think we are good to go. Just need to pack our clothing bag and take off! I'm thinking that we will have the 1 suitcase of wedding stuff, 1 suitcase for our clothing, 1 duffle bag that FI will carry on that will have the beach towels, and then I call carry on my wedding dress.

We leave in 3 days, and we're getting married in 5! I'm so excited! Just ready to leave, NOW!!!!

Holy crap Jenna!!! I can't imagine how excited you are to leave in three days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still have two weeks to go and already I'm getting tingly nerves about it :)

It must've been super nice to see FI even for a little while this weekend, and good to hear that he had a good bach. weekend as well. And I think it's amazing that you're all packed and in just three or four bags total!! I won't have much more than that (I don't think) but you must be super efficient!

And p.s. AWESOME steal getting ten sundresses for $60 - way to go!

Lol, that's the way it is for us. Our resort is only 20 min from the airport, but we figured it could take a lot longer if they're dropping other people off before us. We're going for as much resort time as possible! It was a lot ($120 roundtrip) but we splurged anyway.

ewok- love the rings! Yours is so pretty! Did you have FI's made? I really like it.

hoyt- I cannot believe you leave in three days. You must be flipping out! April is almost here, ladies!

NYbeachbride- I hope you have a great legal day. Nice that you have the day off- it'll be so relaxing! I have to get FI to get on the phone tomorrow and book ours- I'm thinking the 23 of April (two days before we leave) hopefully at the courthouse. We need to get on that.

Thanks, I too was going back and forth on the sand kit, as it's $60 but I am happy I got it, a little memory of our wedding, plus I'll have punta cana side at the bottom.

I am so happy you were able to spend a little time with him, and he had a good bachelore party!!

60$ for all of those summer dresses, I'm totally jealous. We don't have a Ross here... always see them on T.V but none here hissyfit.gif
My goal, is to have all my summer clothes and some weddings things (cake cutting serve, garter) in my big luggage, and the rest of the wedding stuff goes to some of the guest and our carry-on. We waste more weight by adding extra luggages (I weight my big luggage, and alone with nothing in it weight 11.5lbs)
I haven't finish packing yet, so I have no idea if I can pull this off. But also we are handing all the in town guest their OOT bags, or else we would never would have enough room.

OMG, 5 days!!! you must be so excited, nervous at all?

I am just nervous about everything but about marrying FI lol.

    • When brides takes off her wedding dress and begins her marriage life, the first problem after wedding is to modify her name. You have a marriage license with your new last name, doesn't mean you've officially changed your name. Which aspects should be paid attention to to change the surname?
      1. Get your marriage license.
Before you can change your name, you'll need the original (or certified) marriage license with the raised seal. Call the clerk's office where your license was filed to get copies if one wasn't automatically sent to you. 2. Change your Social Security card.
Visit the Social Security Administration's website and fill out the application for a new Social Security card. You'll keep the same number—just your name will be different. Mail in your application to the local Social Security Administration office. You should get your new card within 10 business days. 3. Change your license at the DMV.
Take a trip to the local Department of Motor Vehicles office to get a new license with your new last name. Bring every form of identification you can get your hands on—your old license, your certified marriage certificate and, most importantly, your new Social Security card. 4. Change your bank accounts.
This one's a biggie, especially if you're setting up a joint bank account, or if you have one already set up. The fastest way to change your name at your bank is to go into a branch location, bringing your new driver's license and your marriage certificate. You should request new checks and debit and credit cards on top of changing the name attached to your accounts. Something to note: You might get hit with fees for requesting a new debit card. 5. Fill in the blanks
Once you have a social security card and driver's license in your married name, other changes should be fairly easy. Some places only require a phone call; others may ask for a copy of your marriage certificate or social security card. Be sure to notify: -Employers/payroll
      -Post office
      -Electric and other utility companies
      -Credit card companies
      -Schools and alumni associations
      -Landlord or mortgage company
      -Insurance companies (auto, home, life)
      -Doctors' offices
      -Voter registration office
      -Investment account providers
-Your attorney (to update legal documents, including your will)
      -Passport office
-Airlines (to transfer over your miles)

    • My best friend is getting married with his long-term girlfriend next month. As a best friend, I want to give them the best present they would ever receive on their special day. I am planning to buy them plane tickets and book them for a one week trip abroad. However, I am torn between Ukraine ski trip and a tour to Lima, Peru. My best friend loves skiing and his future wife is a chef, so I presume she would want to experience a Peruvian taste. Now, I am confused. Which is which? I would appreciate it if you guys will leave a comment to help me out with this. Suggesting a way better idea which will accommodate the two activities for the soon-to-be wedded couple is a big help too. Thanks!
    • Hello all!! I'm getting married next week. Every arrangement has been done by my sister for my special day. When I joined in an MNC I was troubled with severe headaches and as per my colleague's instruction, I took an appointment in a nearby eye clinic. And after an eye examination in Toronto, the eye specialist diagnosed hypermetropia in me. And the doctor prescribed eyeglasses for me. The doctor suggested me to wear eyeglasses during the working time. But I used to wear it sometimes not every day. Then I was troubled with severe eye strain and headache and mom was scolding me to wear eyeglasses every day. I thought of saying goodbye to eyeglasses forever. I'm planning for a Lasik eye surgery soon before my marriage. I don't know whether I'm eligible for Lasik eye surgery. I'm tensed about its recovery time and its complications. Can someone help me by sharing your views?
    • In the 2017 bridal fashion week, many styles of wedding dresses were gradually popular. From serious bling to regal capes and fun and flirty short numbers, ByCouturier've got all the hottest wedding dress trends you need to know. Allover Sparkle
Over-the-top sequins, tonal beading and metallic embellishments turned the Bridal Fashion Week runways into a glittery affair. Perfect for evening nuptials under the stars, this trend is daring but sophisticated. Pro tip: If you're rocking a gown with lots of sparkle, keep your accessories minimal and let your glitzy frock do all the talking.  Bold Ball Gowns
If you're looking to make a dramatic entrance, a classic ball gown is for you—and we saw plenty of them. Take a cue from long, lace sleeves, or get glam with an embellished strapless bodice. No matter the details, this voluminous style is sure to turn heads.  Captivating Capes
Not into veils? A full-length bridal cape or shorter capelet is the perfect alternative: It still adds movement to your gown, but feels fashion forward. Plus, this trend is an easy way to pull off a mid-wedding outfit change. Wear a cape or capelet for a more formal look during your ceremony, then whisk it away to hit the dance floor at your reception. Short, Sassy Dresses
Whether you show off your legs (and a killer pair of heels) in an embellished mini or opt for a more conservative midi-length number, a wedding dress with a flirty hemline is a chic way to mix it up. Not willing to give up your dream ball gown? Change into a shorter frock to spice up your reception or after-party.  Plunging Necklines
The deep V-neckline is a must-try for two reasons: It flatters your upper body (even if you're busty!) and elongates your frame. A plunging V with scalloped lace is ultra-feminine, while a sleek V plays up the inherently sexy vibe of a curve-skimming silhouette. Just make sure you have fashion tape handy the day of to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.
      Skinny Straps
We love this trend for two reasons: A gown with barely there straps has all of the sex appeal of a strapless neckline, plus added support. We call that a bridal fashion win.
