We are doing the legal deed here, and not quite sure if we want before or after...but like some of you we are not telling anyone, as far as all the guests are concerned we will be legally married in Mexico :o)

I really have not been focusing on Wedding related stuffs at all...I've sort of took a huge hiatus from planning (what I thought was going to happen with the booking of a destination wedding, lol) but I'm starting to get back on track, so hopefully once I get into the thick of things I won't get overwhelmed!!
I do feel very productive this week, I made some boutonniere's, picked and ordered my BM's dresses (FINALLY) ordered my Mom's dress (I do not trust her to pick it out, awful but true!!)...and I think that's it, but it's better than nothing!!
I hope all is going well with everyone, I included a link to the bout thread I started for your opinions, and if you want step by step pics I think they are in post #26.... and here's a pic of my BM's dress as well!

Tracy: Thanks for the checklist, I haven't looked at it yet, but I saved it and I'm sure it will come in handy!! lol

Chat to you all soon and hope you all have a Fab weekend!

I never wanted to do a 'legal fast' ceremony here without anyone knowing and then a fake one at our DW.. but then I realize just how much cheaper it is to just get married in your home town and the 'fake' ceremony down there.. I even heard you can get fake papers and really make your guest believe it's the first time you 2 are getting married.
When I decided to go that route, my mother wouldn't hear it, she said I'd be cheating the guest out of a wedding lol.. after all it took me to get her to accept we are doing DW, I can't argue with her. We are just do it all there. We actually got our paper work all legal and translated yesterday $360US after!!

It' so hard to go on a vacation especially for the amount of time you did, and then want to go back into planning mode. You'll get there.. and your pretty lucky you have Meghan and vs versa!!! I ask my MOH to come to church with me, as I'd like to get our rings blessed.. and should wouldn't have anything to do with it lol so consider yourself real lucky.

Hope the list helps in any way.

I just love your BM dress's they are so cute and goes with the scenery very well. Congrates on the great find!

Thanks Gals!! I'm glad I'm finally getting something done!! lol

Even tried on my dress today and I still absolutely love it!!

I still have a lot of working out to do, but I'll get there! It's not so much how I look in my dress, as much as it is how I look in a bikini...that's still a little (or a lot) scary!

As for the BM's dresses...they wouldn't be exactly what I would have picked if we weren't paying for some of them!! lol But that kinda goes for everything!! lol, really!! I do really like them, and the color is what I wanted and they're really cheap!...plus everything is coming soooo fast that I don't really care as much at this point!! lol

I just want to tick things off the list!

The bout's are tres-easy, and actually pretty therapeutic - sort of like Meghan's miniature aloe filling exciting nights!! ;o)

Tracy I'm always having problems with BDW!! lol It's always slow or stalling...could be our internet though!

FI made it back from Vegas fairly unscathed!! They had a blast, not "the Hangover" blast, but there were some pics on the missing camera that were pretty funny! It all makes me really want to go to Vegas - I've never been!! So we think we want to do a big trip next year for some major shopping! Coach outlet here I come!!

I know this isn't the workout thread...but my arms, and my whole body for that matter, are so sore I really can't type anymore!! lol

Wishing everyone a great upcoming week and chat to you all soon!

When and what are you doing for yours?
Hehe! It was pretty funny! there were 10 guys, and as much as Vegas could have been damaging, I believe for the most part they were all on their best behavior!! Plus I think only 1 guy was single...they didn't even go to a strip club!! I couldn't believe it...but, they did go to a swanky club and were VIP for the night cause they paid for bottle service - so they suited all up in their best dressed, and if you seen the chickletts at this club they might as well have been at the strippers!! lol

My bachelorette will not be very exciting... if anything at all! The girls now want to plan a trip to Vegas, but that won't be until after the wedding. We may go out here in Calgary but most every one lives away so it'll be hard...We'll prob just do something when we're in Mexico and everyone is together...plus I haven't been out at a bar or dancing for 2 years so I seriously won't know what to do with myself...plus my alcohol tolerance is now zero after having a kid, so things could get really messy!! lol

I know I'm boring... :o) I used to be cool!! lol

What's everyone else doing?? Just so I can live vicariously through you all! lol

We're getting legally married at home a few weeks before going to Mexico. I don't care to be secretive about it, i'm just not making a big deal about it. BUT I see it as a great way to "celebrate" with the important people who aren't traveling to Mexico with us- FI's grandpa... he's not coming to MX but i know it'll be special for him to come to the court house and out to dinner afterwords.

Does anyone know the specifics of doing the legal parts locally- do you have to make an appointment in advance? Anything you have to do or can you just show up the day you want to do it?

FI and his dudes are going up to Windsor (canada!) for a weekend for his bachelor party.

I'm trying to organize a cocktail night for my party... we have a cooking school that offers "girls guide to cocktails" where everyone gets their own shakers and learns to make drinks. sounds like fun! more my style than a night of tiaras, sashes and penis straws, hehe

I am def not sure how it works over there, but when I called to get info on getting married here first, I did have to make an appt and it took 2 months to get the paper work through and get married by a judge. You'll def have to call.

Ohh lucky FI!! looks to be beautiful there.

Your idea is so cute!!! learning how to make drinks can go a long way. I love it.. I would totally have fun doing something like that.

We are going to a pub to get drunk and eat food, then heading over to a strip club.. def a typical 'bachelorette' party with the sash an tiara lol I don't do bars anymore and nether do most of my friends.. I thought it be nice to get the few close GF and have a night out since we're always in now and days.

The FI will probably do a pub to watch a mtl canadian game get drunk and go to a strip club to despite me(because I am going to one), even though I think it'll be funny!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
