April 2010 Brides

Recommended Posts

jodi - first comment - I LOVE YOUR DOG! hehehe! So cute!

About your AHR invites, I would wait until after the holidays are over at a minimum before sending them. I'd think you could follow more of a traditional timeline for them so maybe 2 months ahead of whatever your RSVP date would be? And going by your wedding date, I'd probably have the AHR rsvp in early april so that you can get your final numbers planned out before you leave for your wedding.

Christina- I think your letter gets to the point and isn't harsh. I agree with adding the TA's name like the girls mentioned. I wish I had done this instead I will be sending my formal invites the first week of Jan... so imagine getting two pieces of mail from a bride within 2-3 weeks.. bridezilla! lol

btw, thanks for writing on my wedding website guestbook..that was really nice of you!

Jodi- I'm really sorry to hear everything that has happened. I hope the next couple of months will be better for you.

wow what abeautiful dress, and on top of it it's your TTD?!?! wow I am totally jealous lol!!

Yes I didn't know about the chalk either, I saw it on here.. and here I was going to go with tide to go. But I did research and this is much better for the dress to cover accidents.

Jodi,

Yes I agree with Meghan, 2 months before the AHR date. I am having my July 10th and I will send it out May 15th-20th and they have a date of June 10th to call to rsvp.

and your dog is soooo cute!! :)

I have a boxer and she is totally my baby! I've had to spend a couple month-long work trips without her and I hate not having her around. Before FI and I lived together, he was taking care of her for one of my trips and he used to put her on the phone for me and even sent me a video of them playing in the park so that I could see she was happy! I still have it on my laptop and it was taken almost two years ago!

And to keep you from worrying here's what I figured out - I'm going to be so completely distracted about finally marrying FI that I won't even have time to miss her (well, almost!) until all our guests leave and we have a few days to ourselves. You can sure bet that I'll be calling home to check in on her though!

tonya, that dress is a HUGE find... what a steal! it looks perfect for a TTD too!

i think i am just avoiding thinking about the AHR all together! my photog is doing my invitations for me and i really don't want to think about the rest of it! we're just doing a real casual, bbq style party, but the thought of trying to plan all that with the rest of this stuff going on is slightly overwhelming!!

Things I have to do:
OOT bags and everything associated with them
Schedule BD shoot (waiting for more weight loss) Joanna - are you using someone in NYC or Jersey?
follow up on Non responders - they have till 12/31 - have gotten less than half
Create music playlists
figure out hair and veil situation
I'm sure there's more. I can't think right now!
I'm using Kamila Harris for the shoot in 4 weeks! eeekkk!!!!! She's from Philly but comes up to NYC a few times a year for bd shoots.

i know that i will be distracted too much to worry but its gonna be strange as he usually comes everywhere with us xx

my AHR is fairly casual just a buffet that i have to confirm guest numbers on so there is enough finger food to go around

dj is booked and we have a photographer that agreed to do the traditional shots at the beginning and then random photos of all the guests for the whole night and he is only charging £250 and we get all our photos on disk afterwards

I was hoping to get some of you girls advice for favours.

I am doing the OOT bags and I am spending $15 per couple and for the single guest I am also spend $15 p/p. really thought I'd only get maybe 10 people (5 couples maybe 1/2 single ppl) But now I realized I am having about 23-30 people so now the OOT bag are started to add up. I was also going to get lantern's for the dinner table favour. I was going to do this per couple as well and one for the single ppl. They are about 4$ and they are not the lightest thing. Are any of you girls doing OOT and a dinner table favour? If so what are you guys getting? I am thinking of reconsidering and just getting seashell candle holder and have those light up for dinner and then ppl can take that.

Any ideas? advice I would be so appreciated. Thanks so much!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
