It's such a tease though! I got really mad at my ticker a little while ago because I was so excited that I was into the five month range until I realized I had still been closer to six months than five! LOL!

BUT I am still horribly envious that you have 4's and I still have 5's :)

I didn't really want to do a registry either because FI and I have lived together in our house for a while now so we don't really need anything, and we definitely didn't want our guests to feel like they needed us to get anything.

I had told this to my bridesmaids (my sister and two friends) and said that if anyone asked and was really insistent on getting an answer, that we are currently saving for a new bed (king size!!!) and a new washer-dryer. We also support a boxer rescue program so donations could be made towards that. I figure that since some of our guests can't attend (grandparents for example) they will still really want to do something for us so my BM's can pass it along if needed.

Meghan,

I think that's an amazing idea, us too we have lived together for 5 years, and we don't live in a house,we don't have room for anything lol

Funny, I am too saving for a King-size bed!!!!

I love how your a part of a rescue program for dogs, when I have some extra cash, I'd love to help out. You just let me know how!

Maybe you guys can help, i did decided to do a registry for the bridal shower, I am not even sure I am having, I rather just be prepared in case, My mom loves doing things like that and I'm the only child.

What kind of things do you put on a registry for a bridal shower?!?!?!

The only things I want are bed sheets lol, I mean is this ok to put on it? Or should it be strickly wedding related?

Bed sheets are a great thing to register for. In fact, I think I've heard of people doing showers with a theme like that-all linens. You could register for bedding, sheets, maybe toss pillows, stuff like that. Another good thing to register for if you dont need a lot of stuff might be nice towels- I know I always need towels. Tablecloths and nice linen napkins are something else that don't take up much room that I always seem to need, too. Just some suggestions!

Meghan, I love the idea of supporting a good cause with your wedding! I've thought about telling people to support the food bank and the youth center in my town, too (I live in a remote Northern community and these organisations do some great work). I don't want any gifts- FI and I have lived together for six years and we don't need anything. I think I will do that- you've inspired me!

I don't want to register either but I have been asked a number of times already. I might just register at bed bath and beyond. They have a lot of home necessities as FI and I just moved in to our house officially 2 months ago. We moved from a condo to a single family home, so we have lots of space to fill in lol.

I will def. register for bed linens, cookware, table cloths, and etc. I'm not really expecting anything to be honest bc I'd rather people not spend their money if they're going to spend a couple hundred to see me get married... I've already started to spread the word about that.

ABSOLUTELY!!! they were the best... the lady even made us espresso and took us around everywhere. J is a butcher (by day) and she got out all the different knives and let him try them out to figure out which ones were the best. they treat you really really well there.

also, another interesting note... most of the cookware and kitchen accessories at williams sonoma are actually the same price or less expensive than bed, bath and beyond. i did a price comparison and everything to make sure what the lady told me was right.. i couldn't believe it!

Should I have one incase people still want to get us something?

so at the risk of anyone thinking that J and i are weird for registering, there are only 2 people (out of 20) that are coming to our wedding that are paying for themselves... my parents are covering everyone else. we also aren't really registering for the wedding so much as the AHR. my brother hardly registered at all for his wedding and some of our family got frustrated so we picked out fun things that we wouldn't buy for ourselves and other small things we don't have. we live together too and already have a lot of the stuff that people typically register for.

and i too would LOVE if everyone just cut us a check! we are saving up for a european trip and buying J a new car and it would be sooo nice to have just cold hard cash! :) i hate that it's so frowned upon to ask for that... people always say that they want to do something "personal"... well let me tell you... if you give us a check that helps pay for our mortgage or a vacation.. i take that VERY personally!

LOL!!!! I couldn't have said it any better about asking for money as a gift!! I love it, thank you!!!! I personally give cash, I know it's what people want!!! I think people still stick with registry for the older crowd.

Wow, your guest are lucky, your lucky, your parents are very nice!!!! I'd say your guest should give you guys nice gifts since they are going on vacation for free. They should realize it cost more then having an in town wedding.

I'll do the linen for the bridal shower registry, thanks girls for the advice/suggestions.

It's all we really need, bed sheets, even bedroom curtains, and of course new pots and pans. I still don't expect anything though.

~Where is everyone registering?

Christina- i love your peacock theme and BM dresses. so stylish!!
Thanks for the compliment!

I've registered at carnival honeymoon wishes, bed bath & beyond, and amazon.com. We put links to the registries on our wedding website in case people ask. I'm not expecting anything really, but if people do decide to get us gifts, Iâ€d rather it be something we can use. On carnival honeymoon wishes, people can contribute money to various portions of our honeymoon. On BBB and Amazon, we have household items (like upgrades of kitchen gadgets and linens). Iâ€ve owned two houses already so I have more than enough stuff around the house already (too much really). I found out a couple of weeks ago that my cousin is throwing us a wedding shower back home over the thanksgiving holiday. She asked my mom what type of things we need and my mom was able to send her links to our wedding registries.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
