shortnsweet, you look SOOO tiny in your dress!! you should definitely feel good about yourself for that.. just think of how beautiful you'll look at the wedding with your hair and makeup done and all of that! your BM dresses are beautiful too!

meghan, like christina suggested i'm having my cups sewn in too. my dress is a little low cut and although i'm not "lacking" in that region, i don't want them to look droopy either!!

speaking of my dress.. here are a couple of pictures from my fitting saturday!! no emergencies or issues thank goodness!!

It's ok as it, but my seamstress said that if I was worried about support and/or wanted a little more up top she can add cups for me.

I already have all my accessories!! It's funny because I knew exactly what kind of bracelet and earrings I wanted to wear, so I ordered the bracelet from Etsy and hunted around for the earrings and I was lucky enough to find the exact style on sale in Macys. I went a little overboard on shoes though, because I initally thought I was wearing another dress but when I finally picked out my current dress my first pair wouldn't work sad.gif So one day I went insane on Zappos and ordered 3 pair, but ended up settling on a pair that matched perfectly with my dress. I love Zappos for times like these because they have free shipping and returns for and entire year!!!

As for my veil, I knew I didn't want to spend tons on it so I found the perfect one on ebay for $15!!!
I think I will be asking my seamstress to add some padding to my dress now that you mention it - thank you! I'm sure they would be a more comfy option to having the stick on ones if I can manage it.

I emailed an old friend of mine who now does jewelery making to see if she would be willing and able to help me out with some accessories. I've been trying to find some options for a headband, not the fixed shape kind but the ones that are all twisted wire with beading and stuff, and haven't had much luck other than one store here. So I'll see what she says and go from there. She's just trying to get her stuff loaded on etsy so if she does I will definitely post for her because she is awesome! I seriously need to check out Etsy sometime because I hear everyone talk about it but I have no idea what it is all about!!

Tonya, I think you should totally wear coloured shoes if you want to! I think that especially with DW's you can totally break away from the "standard" traditions that your mom is more likely used to. I'm wearing blue flip flops with my dress! My bridesmaids all want to wear heels with their dresses but I totally don't mind because they're all shorter than me to start with hehe! Sometimes i think that I should wear a heel too, or go more traditional, but everyone who knows me would be more surprised by that than if I did show up in some bright colour. GO FOR IT!!!!

We shot in my backyard with the theme of the shoot being "our first house". They came out really cute, here are two that I like so far. My brother's still processing the rest.
These photos look great. Canâ€t wait to see how the NYC photos turn out.

Thanks! I didnâ€t realize how much of a difference 5lbs would make.

I havenâ€t picked out my shoes yet. I think I may go with a platinum/silver shoe with a little rhinestone detail or a silver/platinum satin shoe. Itâ€s hard to see in my dress pics, but there is a little silver beading detail in the dress appliqués.

Thanks so much!

You look beautiful in your dress too! Iâ€m so jealous youâ€ve had your first fitting already. My dress doesnâ€t come in until late January. I guess I can always go to the bridal shop and try on the sample dress if I get the urge to wear the dress before then (not hardly).

Ok, so I finally have pics to share for everyone...

Here is a pic of my BM dress... Hopefully they will be here sometime this week so that I can see them on my girls.

This is a pic of the first mock up of my invites, there are still a few changes to be made and and some extra details to be added but this is how they will look for the most part. My friend went to school for graphic design, so asked if he would do these for me and he graciously accepted.

This is my first attempt at how the outside will look. I ordered the envelope from paper and more and bought the ribbons and feather from Michaels.

These were my initial shoes but since I picked out a new dress I won't be able to wear them... I still love them and will have to find somewhere to wear them too :)

And these are my wedding shoes... Our ceremony will be on the beach so most likely they will only be worn for pics and the reception.

Everything looks wonderful! I love the colors and the feather detail of your invites. It's nice that you will have a friend help you with them.

And I am sure you can find somewhere to wear your initial shoe choice while you are in Jamaica. They are so cute.

Love your dress- you look so great in it- you must be so happy that it came in okay.

Gregsbride- I really like the peacock feather on your invites. They are going to come out really nicely!

Finally, here's a pic of the shoes I've ordered- I think they'll really match my dress nicely (fingers crossed- I still havent received them so I'm hoping):

Christina- I LOVE it all!! Between you BM dress, your invites, the peacock feather, and your shoes... wow, was this all an image you had in your head or was this style you've always wanted?

Erin- Your dress looks perfect on you! And you were nervous, we told you you had nothing to worry about :)

OK, so I still have to find a picture for my shoes to show you guys, bear with me. But my brother finished processing the pre-engagement pictures: Pre-Engagement Pictures

Tell me what you guys think!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
