I agree- I'm not sure yet if I'll do centerpieces there but I know I'm not going to do them myself. I'm just not that crafty, honestly, and I'll have enough stuff to bring down there with me. I have thought about getting some flowers for the table at the ceremony and if they can be used at our reception as well then maybe I'll go for that.

I've been MIA for a few days and had some pages to catch up on lol. Welcome to Jennywong and KPETT10! I've had one of those weeks at work where I just did not stop- no time for sneaking on to the forums. It seems to have slowed down a bit now, obviously blush2.gif

Well thankfully my friends seem to be good at packing, so they were mostly only taking one bag each for their own things and since our airline allows two pieces of baggage per person I am SO giving people an extra bag to bring! And of course, complete with a packing list for each bag.

Like you suzy and Melidell I think I am starting to think, I really don't need centerpieces. But what the heck, they were cheap, easy to make, light weight. I might as well bring them.

Ha Ha My friends too are really good packer's.Not me, it's why the FI is so stressed out everytime I mention another thing I am bring lol.. poor guy!! he carries all my bags.

Oh I am totally the best packer!!! We have to do long distance drives to go see FI's family and he is always amazed at how much I can get packed into the car!! Haha, his responsibility is to get everything he wants packed out on the bed, or at the back door. Also, I'm a borderline control freak so if I don't pack then I worry too much about having missed something and I get really frustrated if something DID get forgotten. I'm ridiculous!! But at least that way I can only blame myself for being stupid and forgetting things! But at least its good because then I always know how much needs to be packed to come with us!

Things i've realized I'm behind...1) bridesmaids dresses - anyone know how long it takes to get them in? 2)i ordered my wedding dress back in may. i was told it be in in september and i still haven't heard anything. should i be worried? have most of you seen your actual dresses?
this is my 150th post! can't wait to go check out all the attachments :)
Congrats on getting to 150 posts!

I would definitely give the bridal shop a call to see why your dress has not come in yet, but they should have called you if there was an unexpected delay. Iâ€ve heard from various bridal shops that bridesmaids†dresses could take 8-12 weeks to come in, unless you buy them off the rack or from a department store. I have not ordered my bridesmaids dresses yet either. My sister and I plan to go shopping for them in a couple of weeks. Like Suzy mentioned, I also have a couple of designs picked out online that could be shipped pretty quickly as a backup.

lol I feel the same way, I always worry I will forgot to pack something ,I usualy go to Cuba and there is no walmart there. So I end up packing everything (I mean everything) and then realize I only use 15-30% of the stuff I pack. I vouched to myself my last solo trip I would not ever over pack again. The wedding will be my test!

My FI can pack his own bag, but we will not let me touch packing the car, he usually even will unpack my bag, to re-pack it probably lol.. I'm bad.. I wish I had your control when it comes down to packing.

Well my trick for packing clothes... I plan them out!! Oh yes I do! So for a week I'd pick like 3-4 bottoms, then maybe 9-10 shirts that could go with hopefully at least two bottoms so that I can still have a little bit of variety in what I mix and match. Add in a couple sundresses, a couple cover-ups, a couple sweaters and a whole heck of a lot of bathing suits!! And don't forget that I usually expect to buy the odd item down there too :) Packing for the wedding will be my challenge too because of the additional wedding wear, pretty rehearsal dinner wear etc. I'm such a casual person otherwise!! But the best part is that i've got this one dress that I bought like a year ago because I loved it even though I had nothing specific to wear it for. So I'm totally going to wear it for my rehearsal dinner.

The thing I find hard is packing shoes! Flip flops are great because they don't take up too much room, but nicer sandals for the evening can be awkward. I always take too many pairs too. Other than that I do pretty well with packing- FI is a great packer too so that helps a lot.

This is what has me borderline between making and bringing centerpieces with me. If I can easily bring all the stuff I need for the tables with me and easily bring them back without hassle, then I'll use them for the reception as well. I will most likey have to practice packing them, I'm just afraid that they'll either break (vases) or fall apart (flowers) and it'll be a waste of luggage space.

I pack FI's luggage too, although it has become less and less of my problem. He was the WORST folder and packer ever when we met and now he's gotten better bc I tell him to man up and do his own packing, haha.

I used to have lists but nowadays it's become routine as to what to pack when I got on vacation. But like you said with the wedding ensemble being part of the mix now I might have to go back to my list making route, that way nothing should be missed, hopefully!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
