Meghan- I'll take your dad as my date twin, hehe! I met another person with an April 9 birthday yesterday too. I picked Friday as my wedding day so maybe that's why I'm skinny on the date twins. Anyone else getting married on a Friday? I did it bc I was afraid a Saturday wedding would mean drunk/hungover guests missing their flights on Sunday and I didn't want to deal with that on my honeymoon wink.gif

Hi Girls,

I thought I would join this thread because I'm getting married at Las Caletas on March 31 2010. So excited. This is wonderful that we can all get the chance to talk!

We have 52 people booked so far and the number could be close to 60 by the time everyone is booked. I never thought that so many people would end up coming. I know that the price of the wedding goes up with every person but we are so excited to have everyone.

Has anyone thought about centerpieces yet? What hotel did you choose? What are you doing for flowers and favours?

Amy

Are all of you getting married at Las Calteas?
If you look under each person's name (to the left of the post), it shows where we're all getting married - I'm getting married at Grand Palladium in Jamaica. Once you get started on here, you will get caught up!
If you go back through some of the last few pages of posts, you can see a lot of what we've done and pictures of centerpieces, bouquets, etc.

Kimmy - I'm getting married on a friday too!! We chose it for a bunch of reasons actually. Partly based on flight availability, partly because we needed the option for legal wedding requirements (but we're not doing that anymore so moot), flexibility in travel dates (we asked guests to book monday to monday, but also know that some of our guests can only travel on the weekends). Basically it just worked out best for us all around.

And I *totally* know what you mean about trying to help your guests avoid the airplane hangover! A few of my friends were asking if it was okay to book from Saturday to Saturday which of course I said it was IF they didn't mind the hangover! LOL! I'm trying to *encourage them to book on either the Sunday or Monday... hehehe, but I totally posted on our website that we'd prefer no one to book later than Monday so that we can have a few days to ourselves. LOL, that was my nice way to tell them all to get lost! Hahaha!

We are only giving our guests 3 or 4 night packages. I'm praying nobody stays past Monday - this is our honeymoon as well as our wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
