Suzy I don't think it's tacky at all to do the bubba kegs for your wedding party and other mugs for the rest of your guests. I would guess that everyone knows by now that wedding parties often do their own little things anyways so it wouldn't be out of place at all.

Question for you - where did you get your first aid kits?? I've been looking a little bit and so far the only ones I found were maybe $1.50 each which (as you know!) adds up quickly when buying 50 of them.

As for printing out puzzles and stuff, you could always get some cardstock or bristol board to make a front and back cover and have a personalized little booklet for your guests? It might just collect it all together for you nicely... but just a thought!

I'm struggling... I've heard every excuse under the sun of why people cannot come. We sent out over 100 STD's in August and the only people that have booked so far are FI and I, and one couple that's a family friend. That's it. It crushes me that I have to explain to my friends one by one that it would mean a lot to me for them to attend.... all they hear is $$$$$$ and say they can't afford it. We picked Mexico to make it affordable for guests!!! Did I do something to piss everybody offhuh.gif!!!
It's bad timing b/c a lot of friends in our circle are planning their weddings or buying houses, so they have excuses out the wazoo. I shouldn't have to beg people to come....
Not even my former college roommates are making arrangements. I hope my bridesmaids actually make it... they've been iffy too. Super bummed right now sad.gif
With that said, 100 invites, no clue about who will actually attend... how do you purchase things for OOT bags? I don't want to buy for 20 people if 40 come, or buy for 40 if only 10 come.... ahhhh!
Kim, I feel your pain. When my STDs were sent out in June/July (I forget what month exactly) I got a lot of, "Oh, I dont' know.. it's too much money" But now I'm getting, "Of course we'll be there!". I think it just takes time for people to evaluate their financial situation and take into account your feelings about them being there. For example, my cousin kept saying, "If we have money we'll go". Well, he just got married 2 weeks ago. I flew out to OH to see him get wed... we all had a blast. Now he's asking me how to get in contact with my TA bc he understands the importance of having family at a wedding.

The sad thing in my case is that none of FI family will be there. I mean, yea his parents and sisters will be there but no Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc. whereas most of my family on both sides will be there. My FI will be the first male to get married out of only 2 on both sides of his families! I don't understand that at all.

Patience is key I suppose.

i ordered my holders from here:
Advantus Resealable ID Badge Holder, Vertical, 50 Per Pack - AVT75524 - 75524 at Wares Direct

they come in packs of 50 which was perfect for us since we are making our keycard holders and luggage tags out of the same holder and we will have about 25 guests. these were a nice quality too and are resealable which is helpful when you're around water.

i also searched on amazon when i was trying to find the right kind and found a bunch of different ones so that's worth a shot. here is one of the ones i thought was a good deal:
Amazon.com: Advantus 75451 Proximity badge holders, vertical, 2-3/8 x 3-3/8, clear, 50 per pack: Office Products

I really hope no more than 50 decide to come!! lol
The good thing about finding out about the world of OOT now is the fact that I can spread the cost out gradually!! But I HAVE to stop surfing this forum and wanting everything!!
making your own bags?! you are a DIY superstar.. i wouldn't even dare to try that! and i know what you mean about getting ideas from this site. it took me a long time to really sit down and think through everything i wanted to do and decide if it would make a difference or was worth the $$$. it definitely helps with your sanity though.. you will reach a point when you don't feel so overwhelmed.. i promise!

Erin, where did you get your flowers from? Also, are they silk or real touch and how is the quality?

tonya, i got my flowers from hobby lobby. they are real touch and are a really good quality. can't remember how much they were per stem though. i don't know how well silk flowers would work submerged since some of the poorer quality ones have colors that may bleed when the fabric gets wet. definitely a trial and error kind of thing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
