April 2010 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone -

Welcome to all of the new April brides....

Very exciting day - I tried my dress on! it actually fit me perfectly but of course I started a major diet today, so we're just going to leave it for now - I'll go back in January to see what alterations will need to be done. I also tried on some veils - my mom took tons of pictures - I have to see if my dad can upload them on his own or if I have to go do it for them and then I'll be sure to get them posted.

I also got the rates for my guests dropped over half of what they were originally supposed to pay....I guess there was a reason why nobody had booked yet...I just sent out another email to everyone letting them know so maybe NOW someone will actually do it!

So list of things I've done....

Resort

Wedding Package

Dress

Shoes

Photographer

Need to do...

Invitations - Immediately - Scubadiver you asked when - I feel like I should send them now probably only because nobody has booked yet!

OOT Bags and contents

Veil - I tried on a nice one today - will submit pictures for discussion

Wedding Bands

Playlist

Ipod Speakers

FI has to get a suit but he's not allowing me to be a part of that....cross your fingers for me!

Yay I'm also an April 2010 bride...getting married on the 19th in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. My sister works at Cruise Ship Centers she she got us a great price of $1,147 taxes in pp at the Grand Paradise Bavaro. I'm so excited cause for every 8 people booked 1 person goes free so my fiance and I are definatly going free!! YAY! My sister sent out all the information for our wedding to the guests just last week so we already have 10 people booked. I'm still going to get formal invitations out probably next week for people to have. I have my dress my girls are wearing Mori Lee dresses style #791 in turquoise with the same coloured flip flops and the guys are wearing tan suits with turquoise dress shirts..with crisp all white pumas. Getting soo excited what else do I need to do...shop for our wedding bands and gifts for our wedding party..thinking necklaces inside real shell jewellery boxes and my favourite perfume (Viva La Juicy) for my girls and for the guys......thats up to my fiance..no idea! Anything else I'm forgetting let me know..Thanks girlys! Tammy

Yes, actually I looked last night and found some great stuff. I guess I just worry about buying something like that from a website b/c what if it doesn't look as good?? But I guess I will go with that.

Also, does anyone know where I can get one of those monograms from?

Thank you

niki - love the dress - I'm a maggie bride too!

Taylorbride - maybe Michaels or one of the craft store would have a hair flower, or one of the kiosks in the mall?

There are 2 vendors on this site that make monograms that I know about - Becks (Allurements by Rebecca) and Sarah (Sprouille Designs). Mine is from Sarah (I got 6 for $15) and I think ebredhawk's is from Becks.

taylorbride... that is so fun!! it's definitely nice to have a photographer who is just as excited about everything as you are! it is sure to come through in his pictures!

shortnsweet, that is cool that you have the option of having guests come but not have to stay at a destination for a long period of time. AND you get to enjoy the whole cruise without worrying about the wedding!! where is your cruise going?

michele, that is AWESOME about the dress AND the price for your guests! i have my fingers crossed that they start booking soon!

niki, that dress is beautiful! such a classic look!

tammy, that is really cool you and your FI get to stay for free. it's nice to have connections! it seems like we keep adding more and more april DR brides every day!

shamrock.. welcome! are they working on the moon palace now... when are they supposed to be finished? do they have a WC and everything there to help you plan even though they're not open?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
