Definitely not flutes -- I don't think a guest book, but maybe like a board or something - I haven't decided on what to do for placecards yet...I'm going to do OOT bags with who knows what in them.....since I have no clue who's coming or how many people, I don't want to buy anything yet!

I actually have an interview on Tuesday - if I get a job it is going to seriously cut into my BDW/wedding planning time, which might actually get me more organized!

I will be getting the flutes, My mother will not allow me to do other wise (I'm an only child, and a girl on top of that, I was lucky she got passed the fact I was doing destination wedding) I don't like the whole idea of the guest book, I can just see it getting dirty since there will probably be no stand like in a reception hall. What I do like, there is a stip of paper for everyone, they write down a wish for the bridal couple I.E wedding couple must get a massage, or couple must do a romantic dinner, sign with their names.

I'm with you on that, I can't buy favours yet until I know how many people are coming. I would like to do beach bags filled with little things. But only if not allot of people are coming, as beach bags are $$.

I like the silver tag idea. Great one! what exactly are OOT bags? (out of town bags?) if so this is what I was thinking. But no idea with what to fill them with, and what kind of bags, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you think it's necessary to get place cards, or are you doing it just because you like them, and you have a specific idea of where you want people seated?

This is so exciting! What do you have done so far for your wedding? Are you sending decor items down there ahead of time? I know that they have chair sashes so I will be using those in turquoise. But I am not sure if the wedding favors have to go seperately or we can bring items like the favours and OOT bags with us. What are you doing? Are you doing OOT bags? How about favours? Also, because we are not positive how many guests we will have, I didn't know if I should make place settings for the tables. So far, we are about 20 (mostly relatives). How many are you expecting and are you decorating or leaving it to the wedding coordinator there?

This is so fun!! so you'll be married the day before me!! so excited!! I'll also be there for your wedding!!

I'm not sending anything over a head of time (I think the would end up losing it) I am doing OOT bags but have no idea what I am going to put in them yet. I haven't thought of a decro. I really thought they'd have everything I could possibly need. I am bring flutes, favours (which ones can't decided yet) like you I'm only getting my full guest list in Oct. So if anyone has ideas for me for OOT bags and what to put in them. If your bring decro, let me know what your bring, maybe I'll want to do the same!!

how completely random that the 3 of you are all back-to-back! this site makes it seem like such a small world!

kimmy.. where did you guys get your bands from? i have been trying to work with a jeweler north of the city (where my parents live/i grew up) and the guy was supposed to help me with a custom band since my e-ring is an unusual shape, but i haven't heard anything from him yet!

michele, good luck on your interview! let us know how it goes! and trust me, even if you're working, you can still get plenty of BDW time in :) ...or maybe that's just me! (just saw your ticker...8 months for you today!)

am i a slacker for not doing placecards or anything like that? we'll only have 20 people and there will only be 1 table... i didn't really see the point in setting all that up when people can really just sit wherever they want!

we did have a major find this weekend though.. we finally got FI's tan fedora! it was one of his few requirements.. that he gets to wear a hat. honestly this was probably the hardest thing we've had to do so far so i'm glad to have it off my plate! we also got both of the GM to order their outfits. one of them is in iraq right now too, so i was super impressed with how quickly he got that taken care of!!

hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Caribbean Bride... I am originally from Montreal! I grew up in Chateauguay and then lived and worked (at Avon Canada) on the West Island. Whereabouts are you? I moved to Ottawa in November. It certainly does seem like a small world! Maybe I will have leftover decor for those whose wedding follows me! :)

I am doing turquoise and white (or perhaps oasis (more tiffany color), but we do not have the BM dresses yet so who knows what we will discover! I noticed on another section of this site that the Grand Palladium wedding coordinator prints a menu if you eat at La Uva. That would be fabulous. I am not going to go crazy carrying all kinds of decor, but I think I will bring something turquoise, black and white for the tables. Pretty white fabric flowers maybe.. (I am all about the packaging and the decor... thats my thing!)

Anyhow, I am definately doing OOT bags with a mix of aloe, sunblock, tums (you never know) etc. I was also thinking of the Old Navy flip flops but it might be kinda hard to get all the sizes. I will probably have about 20 guests (hopefully more.. I am off to the mailbox now to see if I have any more replies!) Talk to you later ladies!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
