April 2010 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I am also an April 2010 bride, my wedding date is set for the 16th.

So far I only have my dress (ordered it I mean) and shoes, FI has no attire at the moment. As far as the STDs, we are done designing them and proof-reading them and are in the process of waiting for our paper products to come in from paperandmore.com. It's just a matter of weeks before we send them out, I'm so excited! Our STDs will include resort information and TA info. We're asking that people check out our webpage to RSVP for a preliminary head count and will send out formal invitations for wedding and at home reception early next year.

I wish I didn't ask anyone to be in my wedding party, I have a total of 12! 6 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen (we originally wanted a wedding in NJ but the cost of that would be too much). Now I'm worried because my MOH might not be able to make it sad.gif She has to re-take a class she failed in the Spring. I will feel weird to ask another friend/family to fill in a BM role if my MOH really can't make it, that's kinda messed up isn't it?

We are 10 months away, wee!!!

yay!! another april 2010 bride!

don't you love paperandmore.com? we got some of the stuff we are using from there as well and the prices are the best i could find!

FI's attire is something we're still trying to figure out too! we had found a fedora for him to wear (he insists on wearing a hat) but it's not on the Express website anymore. I am holding out hope that it shows up soon!

that is quite a wedding party you have too! did you ask them to be part of the wedding before you chose to have a DW? i've seen girls' pictures where they have 10 on each side or they have none, so i'm sure you'll be able to make it work! there are tons of great ideas for wedding part gifts on here too, no matter what size group you have!

that definitely stinks about your MOH. i don't think you should have to have someone fill in for her if she can't come though, unless you really want both sides to be even, which i know some people do!

Hello Everyone!!

Iâ€m also an April 2010 bride and I will be getting married at the Royal in Playa del Carmen.

I thought I was ahead of the game, but after reading some posts here, I think I need to start getting on certain things asap!

The one thing I already have is my dress. I bought it on a whim and Iâ€m kind of having second thoughts, but Iâ€m hoping all that will vanish once I see the dress on me i my size. Iâ€m going to start actively looking at invitations within the next month so that I could start sending them out in early September.

Thanks Michele for starting this thread. Itâ€s good to see how everyone is handling their weddings.

Cheers!

Yay for more brides!!!

diana, I am actually going to purchase my gown tomorrow but I was a little worried about having second thoughts later. I've tried on several gowns since that one, which ironically just happened to be the first one I tried on a whim. But for some reason, I am still drawn to that gown, so I'm thinking it's THE ONE!!! Wish me luck ladies!!

Hi again :)

My dress is a Maggie Sottero- Michelle. It's gorgeous but I'll be getting it in diamond white.

Oh and to answer your other question ebredhawk, yes I did ask my bridal party to be in my wedding before deciding to have a DW. I'm glad you mentioned that you've seen other brides with bigger wedding parties because I haven't seen or heard of it at all lol.

I can't even take anymore pics in my dress because they sold the sample a few weeks ago sad.gif I really wanted to try it on again, but I guess I will just have to settle for the pics I have from the first time I tried it...

doblauvelt, I'm not sure about anyone with large bridal parties for a DW but my friend was in a wedding that had 42 person bridal party!!! In fact the wedding was recently on Whose Wedding is It Anyway.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
