April 2010 Brides

welcome back michele!!!! so glad to hear that everything went well!! (minus the cold of course) the picture you already have up looks GORGEOUS!!

okay.. new rule.. do NOT listen to brides who are still a few months out. they will freak you out. some of the other dreams brides who are getting married this summer are really worrying me. one of them was reading trip advisor and said that the beach ceremony reviews weren't all great. well, J and i decided even before we were engaged that we wanted to be married ON a beach. i don't like hearing this stuff!

also, we have a GM stuck in iraq! he is supposed to fly out saturday, but some of the military flights have been cancelled because of the volcano, so he's not sure if he'll be able to get on his original flight out and then on his flight down to PC next monday. he still has a week left though.. here's hoping he doesn't have too many issues!

and happy wedding day to jill!!! including today, there are 10 brides left! we're more than 1/2 way through!

Yea I learned to not listen to other brides a long time ago... everyone has a different opinions and expectations of how things should be, I say it's better off to leave 'em to them.

Holly - STOP LOOKING AT THE WEATHER CHANNEL! I get myself so nervous b/c the weather kept changing and calling for rain. The weather changes non-stop! They were calling for rain and thunderstorms for our whole trip and we only got a few light sprinkles during our reception.

I'm gettin married next monday.

My main conern is the weather! Everyday it says rain and thunderstorms.
For the ladies who have gone already did it rain alot? I'm so nervous.....
It rained on and off - it never rains for long and the resorts are so beautiful, they always have a great alternate location.

BTW I lost my camera on the beach last night!!! sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

Oh and I came here, to get married directly on the beach.. however it didn`t work out that way. Once the WC showed me pics of how it`s set up (beautiful( but all you see is loung chiars, and ppl tanning, at the time we didn`t exactly know the time of the ceremony, but yet had to make my mind up of the location. Disappointly I picked the gazebo over looking the ocean, a few days later I saw a ceremony on the beach and I can say I made the right pick, after all we went on the beach afterwards, plus the TTD, so had plenty of ocean pics. the ceremony ended up being at 6pm, therefore no tanners.... sadly sadly sadly.. but I wont dwel on it, and move on and say it was the most beautiful ceremony ever... after all I could still hear the ocean lol.

I was a little disapointed, but i wont remember that.

You all can make the decision when you get there and see things up close and personal.

Can`t wait until May, this way we will all be back and ready to talk again lol

xoxoxo

tracy i am so glad that you had a beautiful ceremony (as if there was any doubt!) even though it wasn't what you first thought it would be!! i can't wait to see all of your pictures once you get back!!

michele, those pictures on your photog's blog are GORGEOUS!! the one with the sunset is perfection!!

today is legal day!! i'm trying to not make such a big deal out of it, but it's pretty cool still! i managed to even look a little fancy at work for the occasion!

did anyone start to get ridiculous questions from frantic guests before they left? people are really worried about not having some sort of "official document" for their plane tickets, but that's how it is now. even people who have travelled like this recently are worried! i just want to turn my phone off until we all get to the airport!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
