Meghan, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with his loser friends right now. That is not fun- and Mr "does this shirt make me look fat" sounds like a grade A prima donna. I agree with Erin, though, there will be tonnes of other people with you in Mexico and these guys will just fade into the background. I think you're right not to want them around after the wedding- that one guy who thinks you shouldn't have an opinion on the bachelor party sounds like a sexist dick.

 

Erin- I'm really, really hoping things go your way today. I don't know how you're coping with this mess at the last minute- but you're doing an awesome job. Let us know how it goes. I'll be thinking about you!

meghan, i am so so so sorry that these boys are just causing continued drama. the past DW brides always say that you really learn a lot about people during this whole process, and it sounds like you're no exception to that rule. this is not something you should have to deal with right now and it makes me want to strangle someone for what they're doing so soon before you leave! if it's possible, rest assured that they will NOT ruin any of your wedding photos, and there will be plenty of other, more important people there with you to celebrate with. it seems like we all have our own war stories through this whole process, and you've definitely got yours! we're all here for you to vent, just make sure these guys don't get the satisfaction of taking anything away from what you've been look forward to for so long!!

Jodi - I can relate a little bit of what you're going through right now as we leave in just a few days and my wedding coordinator isn't even emailing me back right now! We haven't confirmed our reception time which means i haven't been able to confirm my time with our photographer (and I need to do that before Sunday! CRAP!). I hope your TA works it all out for you!

And thank you girls SO MUCH for your support with these jackass GM's! It honestly means so much to me, even though I know my crisis is nothing compared to Erin waiting on the court decisions today. There's just more and more details about these guys that drives me crazy - such as one just having recently been married and gone through all this, and the other (the one with the backwards opinions on the bach. party) who spouts off about valuing his relationship with his g.f. like I value my relationship with FI - except I know that he flat-out lied to his g.f. about details of FI's bachelor weekend and the stripper, and asked the guys to back him up on it!!!!! I'm ashamed to admit that I hacked into FI's work email to see what these guys were saying behind my back before... but at least now I have the evidence in writing straight from this guys email account.

It's so true that you really do find out what people are truly like in events like these. FI doesn't always seem to understand my theories on my friends - but I will not have people around me who think that it's okay to lie, manipulate and disregard others. The tricky part now will be how to avoid these guys as much as possible during our trip...

Meghan, I am oh so sorry for all this crap with the GM, and I'm chatting to you about it on messenger right now. It will all work out, and like I just said to you - If there is any time you can put your foot down, the time is now!!! SO DO IT!!! I'd be making them wear purple sun hats too!! Just to piss them off more!

Nat - Unfortunately my family is not the Worldly Travelers that my FI's family is, so we've had some grumblings from my family from the start...and to make everything even worse - my Mom suffered and survived a brain aneurysm 3 years ago while she was in the States visiting my Brother (we totally call her the Million Dollar Woman! because of her medical bills :o)and now she is totally nervous about EVERYTHING, including traveling, flying, different countries - you name it!! So initially it's been the drug wars, then the earthquake...any piece of media she sees/reads kind of gets her nerves all in a jumble, and now that everything is coming so close I think it's all really freaking her out.

 

ugh, she did try to cancel and she can't, so looks like she is coming, but this has all been sooooo draining, I just hope once she gets there she will have fun and realize she didn't have to worry sooo much!!

 

Sorry I haven't been able to catch up on everything ladies....I will read up on things and try to catch up on all the happenings!! Hoping all is well with everyone, we're in the homestretch now!!!

The girls are right, once your in MX you'll have all YOUR friends and family there to keep you away from these losers!!! I feel bad for your FI a little.. it's his friends and I'm sure he doesn't want them acting like that, all awhile making you upset.. I'm sure he def feels like his in the middle.. FI had friends like that at the start of our relationship so I can relate, never went as far as this tho.

It's so not right he blew you off, if that was my FI he would have known better not to bother coming home that night!! (Yup I'm a strick one!!)

I def think it should be something you guys talk about when you come back, I am not sure they are friends you keep once you've settled down.

 

I'm sorry, you guys can't get in contact with your WC. I can't imagine how stressful that is!!

Mines pretty good lately, I guess knowing I'm coming soon... maybe it'll be the same for you guys.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's illness. I can relate a little bit and I can say it is def a little nerv racking traveling to anothr country when your not 100% healthy. I know everything will be fine, She will be fine. I'm sure once she gets there, and realizes she's fine even after she's gotten there, everything will be ok, and she'll have a blast..especially at your wedding!!

I would try and not take it personally, as hard as that is.. I have a feeling she indeed wants to be there, just supper nervous. My mom was like that for my dad since he'd just came out of a 5 month coma when we decided to do the WC.

I know it'll all work out once you guys are there. I know when you'll come back a part of your review will be how much fun your mom had!!!

meghan, my mom has a great saying... "same shit, different bucket" (pardon my vulgar mother!)... we all have our drama to deal with, but just because it's different doesn't mean it's any less stressful or deserving of some serious venting!!

 

that being said... JEREMY'S DAUGHTER IS COMING TO THE WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the judge didn't just issue a decision, he made it a COURT ORDER that she come!!!! he has had a horrible experience with custody and just everything court related, but he won the most important part!!! i can FINALLY start letting myself picture her there and we can really start getting her excited about all of the details!!! oh man i need a glass of wine now!!

 

suzy, your message actually made me cry.. happy tears of course! the vision of you all in our corner and her stupid, bitchy mom in the other was the best ever :) i am saying my prayers that everything works out with your family as well. once they get there, they won't be able to help but forget why they were worried in the first place!

 

jodi, i am so sorry you are going through that mess right now. you want to be able to enjoy this time and they are just making this so much more stressful for you! please let us know once you find out that things are okay and all set up! we'll be thinking about you!

Yes I had to include every happy smily face that I saw for that cheer! I'm so happy that J's daughter will be joining you and I can't even imagine how incredible you must feel right now, especially being able to *finally* know that it's really going to happen! Amazing! Yay court judge!!! You deserve an entire bottle of wine to celebrate - enjoy!!!!


p.s. especially in my case, I enjoy your mom's vulgar language so thanks for the kind words :)

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
