Meghan,

that's exactly where I went. But it's not just any stitch it. It was to be stitch it and embroider place. They only have 1 in Montreal. But they have millions of just stitch it

They aren't charging much either, just for 'I love you mom' will be about $10 or less.

Tracy I think Erin had the right idea with the sand - I like that already! What about waiting until you're down there and getting some sea shells to add as well maybe?

Oh yah and are the flowers from your bouquets or can they be separated? It is tricky to tell what the flowers are like from pictures (because you're worried they look tacky) but maybe you could put a single flower in the sand and angle it off to the side with a candle in the top of the sand as well? Just have to be careful that you're not going to set the flower on fire LOL! But if they're your bouquets then that won't work anyways - I'm just brainstorming!

Tracy, I like the sand, too!

What if, based on your original idea to change it, you had sand, then a top layer that's a mixture of shells and clear beads, then a candle? (no flowers)

Another idea might be to have the flowers sit flush with the top of the vase instead of sticking out above it. You could cut off the stems so that the flowers are resting on the top. The inside could have clear beads/shells in the bottom with water all the way up to the top?

Dunno, also just brainstorming...

They aren't the bridesmaid bouquet, so I am free to do whatever to them

I've tied them with floral tape, which always can be removed.

Meghan, like your idea, I would actually get the LCD candle (they are so much lighter) so I would have to worry about the flower catching on fire.

I also really like your idea taylorwd I will try both and produce some pics and see what you guys think.

I really appreciate you guys helping me so much!!!!

They are short enough to hit the bottom of the vase, so the flowers are againts the top rim just like you said. I just didn't get it far enough before putting the sand in.

So here is Meghan's idea. I actually like it. The thing is with each stem there is 3 buds of flowers. So the yellow one has all three of them. The orange I pulled apart so it's just 1 bud.

I will do the other idea a little bit later. My problem is I start doing 1 thing, then I see something else to do, so i go do that, next thing you know I'm in the middle of doing 5 different things, so none of it actually gets done!!!! It's truly drive me mad.

I can either keep this colour of candle (matches blue, but it's a real one, I can see the flower catching on fire, so if I went this route, it'll probably the tall white LCD candle)

this is what it'd look like if it was just water (I don't have the clear beeds made yet, but i put the purple ones it, just changed my water to purple lol) I cut them to short if it'd be water, they don't hit the bottom, but the sit nicely on the rim.

and this is just the trail one ,the real colour was the yellow and one orange in the middle.

tracy i definitely think that looks better! my only concern would be whether the flame from the candle would mess with the flower at all. i'm tempted to say either flower or candle, but not both? if you want the extra pop of color from the flowers though, absolutely keep them!

I think for the candle on top I was thinking more of a tea light?!?! You could partially bury it in the sand so that the cheap metal edge isn't showing either. I guess that's why in my head there wasn't as much of a problem with the flower catching! LOL!

But if you're thinking of doing the little LCD lights then it would work out alright too, and you could even add two depending on how close they are to each other.... they would also light up your flowers from the bottom a little bit which might look neat in the dark??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
