Yes, bathing suit shopping in the winter is so hard you know (well, maybe you don't since you're in summerland!), I better use my time doing that than running around to the Post Office...

Lol, it's true that compared to Canada it's practically summer here! Bathing suits usually show up in the stores around Valentine's Day, so I'm very lucky that way! Personally, I think it should be that way everywhere. I mean, so many people have spring vacations that it seems like a no-brainer to me, but I'm not the one running the clothing stores!

I'm not from Texas originally (I'm a Yankee at heart) so I can relate to your pain!

Well my first comment is that thankfully Walmart does have bathing suits pretty much year round now and they aren't a bad price either woohoo!!

Second - you only take four bathing suits with you?!?! LOL! I probably won't have less than 8-10 suits when I go away cheesy.gif Plus I've collected a few new cover-ups to take with me as well so I'm very excited to show it all off!! Don't get me wrong, I'm not ecstatic to be strutting around in my bikini all the time or anything - I'm as self-conscious as the next girl - but every woman loves to have new clothes to show off!!

Good to hear that your paperwork finally made it down there. I'd definitely have been panicking and working on the overnight express situation like you were starting to. Thankfully you got to stop early in the process and it never hurts to have an extra copy of your birth certificate around just in case.

I'm with you on this! I already have 3 bathing suits that I like and bought 3 more already. And I'm trying really hard not to buy more! I do need at least one more, a strapless one to wear the first couple days I'm there so as to not get tan lines before the ceremony. The way I look at it, we're the center of attention so if we want a different bathing suit every day then that's what we should have!!

hehe I bought a bandeau top for the same reason and seriously they do NOT suit my body type LOL! I have a fairly long torso and when I wear a bikini top like that with regular bikini bottoms, I look so awkward since there is just so little covering my body! I mean, I realize that is the point of bikinis but typically i would wear a halter style and prefer something closer to boy-cut bottoms than anything! Eek!

Plus it's kind of weird since my parents will be there and I'm not used to just strutting around with nothing but my bikini on.... nevermind that FI gets grabby when that's all I'm wearing and it'll be kinda difficult being inconspicuous about heading back to our room in the middle of the day for some "fun" if you know what I mean! Okay i know its our wedding and everything but I haven't lived anywhere near my parents for 10 years so it's a little strange...

oh yah, I know this had come up a while back but I can't find which post # now.... we've received the odd wedding gift already and I'm not sure if we should send out thank-you's NOW or wait until later?! The only reason I wanted to wait is so that I can order thankyou cards with a wedding picture on it... don't know what to do!!

Haha I can relate to being out of our comfort zones! I have fairly large girls and would normally wear a halter top to support them. This is going to be veeeery interesting wearing a strapless top for a couple days!

I don't have any strapless bathing suits - maybe I'll buy one this weekend or just take down the straps on mine when Im lying outside...i don't look good in them either and my brain is on overload already!

We are making our IPOD playlist tonight.

My dress fitting was ok - they tied the back so tight you couldn't tell it was a corset so they will take it in a few inches on the sides - my mother was maing me nuts - she got one picture with my phone and then did something to make it turn into a video camera and couldn't turn it back. She is lucky to be alive right now.

I am seriously starting to lose it ladies!

Michele - I had the exact same concern with my dress because I also have the corset back and am planning to have the panel out of it. My dress place said they'd be doing the same thing - taking in the dress at the side seams - if it was too closed off for me.

Try not to worry too much about the pictures if the dress wasn't quite right anyways! I know it's all part of the process but if you still have another fitting then use that time to get some good ones!! I also had my first fitting last weekend and it was a really sweet moment with my sister since she hadn't seen my dress at all yet, nevermind on me. Unfortunately a lot of that was ruined for me with everything going on with FI and our friends sad.gif

Yes, five days later and I'm still at a loss for what I'm supposed to do right now. This is really the most major moment where FI and I have completely and utterly had different opinions and couldn't find any sort of middle ground. I've always been a believer that many traits in people can easily boil down to boy vs. girl... and this scenario has been a horribly true example of just that. The guys think it was right, the girls think it was wrong. So here's what I'm working on accepting... four weeks before my wedding, I now know that I cannot trust my friends to make decisions on their own actions that involves myself or FI. how does that sound for hollow friendship?!? The guys (including FI) don't think the decision was wrong to go ahead with the things they planned just so they could get their own kicks out of it. And I personally find it extremely wrong that they believe this knowing it was going to cause problems and hurt someone. What a time to realize that huh? I'm supposed to get the GM's their pants this weekend and expect to carry on with all my planning and honestly, I don't want to see or talk to any of them right now. This bloody sucks.

Meghan- I'm so sorry that you're dealing with the fallout from that stunt they pulled at the bachelor party so close to the wedding. That must be so frustrating- like things aren't stressful enough for you already! Maybe FI should be in charge of handling things for the groomsmen at this point, you shouldn't have to deal with them right now. They're your FI's groomsmen and responsibility anyway- I'd make him get the pants and take care of all of that. He owes you after that fiasco anyway.

On a lighter note, I got a strapless bikini too and it's not the most flattering on me either. Who exactly do these look good on, anyway? They make me look like I'm built like a twelve year old boy! Oh well, at least I won't have wedding tan lines.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
