April 2010 Brides

Recommended Posts

OMG, Nat!!! I love everything. Your guest will love them and appreciate all your efforts. You did one heck of a job. I especially love the little bottle with the sand.

Oh if you don't mind, I may steal your idea for the thank you card from vista print. What exactly did you say, how did you thank them?

Amazing work!!!!

Share away, I personally love seeing it lol.

Well the sooner you put them together, the sooner you can 'hope' to stop shopping for them!

Feels good, getting all the paperwork out of the way for the licences huh!!

So your finally back home then?!?

Michele, It was me, Thank you so much for informing me, I'll check it out now and see if it's the same for CA.

How is the new job going? And hows the SUV?!?

Hope your liking it.

Thanks Tracy. I am so glad to be getting near the end of this wedding planning stuff. Sure, I will be glad to share the wording that I "borrowed" from some other brides on this forum. And yes, I am back home. I got back Friday evening.

For the OOT Bags,
Dear Family and Friends,

The wait is finally over!! Welcome to a week of sun, sand and relaxation... We are both so happy and feel very blessed to be able to have our wedding celebration aboard the Carnival Glory! We are especially honored that you have traveled this far to be a part of our wedding celebration. We hope the next seven days are as fun and memorable for you as they will be for us.

We hope you enjoy the “goodies” included in your welcome bag. It’s a small token of our appreciation for your being here. Please make the most of your stay aboard the Carnival Glory. Remember, this is your vacation too!!

With Love and Appreciation,
Kenneth & Natasha
For the Wedding Favor Bags,
Dear Friends & Family,

Many years from now, when we look back on our life and this day, we’ll remember that being surrounded by the family and friends we hold so dearly was the perfect beginning to our life as husband and wife. You are providing us with special memories that we shall treasure forever. Thank you for being here to share our special day.

Love,
Kenneth & Natasha

-ShortNSweet- I love the note in your wedding favor bags.

-Meghan and Erin, thank you so much for offering to share your extras with me. Problem is that I need enough for about 50 people, so I think I need to keep shopping. I appreciate your offers :)

-Don't get me started on bridesmaid frustrations. 2/3 of mine aren't even coming. I'm making my sister my maid of honor and my MOM my maitron of honor, hehe. We have an awesome groups of guests coming but I didn't want to use "filler bridesmaids" so since none of my "Bestest" girls are getting their a$$es to mexico I thought it would be more meaningful to ask my mom. Rollin with the punches... Or maybe it's time to redefine "bestest" ...

-Did i mention i'm doing an ALL-WHITE wedding? Asking all the guests to wear white! So tacky, I love it wink.gif

-My mugs arrived from DiscountMugs.com and I must say I'm quite happy with them. I know they got some poor reviews on here, but I went in knowing that, so I was patient with time, and kept my expectations low. Ended up pleased! Same story with my knock-off wedding dresses.

-FI's Bachelor party was this past weekend in WINDSOR, Canada! I'm pretty sure everyone followed the rules: No one gets arrested, injured or diseased! He went straight to a conference in Florida so I haven't seen him yet, but it sounds like they had a good, mellow (?) time.

-My party is this Saturday in CINCI- ERIN EBREDHAWK- Do you want to comehuh.gif!?!?!?! Everyone else is invited too, if you can make it! We're going to a dueling piano bar.... it's a combination bachelorette party for me and a friend who are getting married 2 weeks apart- another April bride! I don't expect anything too wild since we invited our moms to come along... haha

OMG duelling piano bars can be SO much fun!! I went to one when I was down in Austin and never laughed so hard in my life! There were a few of us CDN's there that night and they made fun of us the entire night of course but it was all in great fun. The piano bar we have here in town isn't the greatest unfortunately otherwise I'd be there all the time! I hope you've got a great one there and have TONS of fun!

If you change your mind on the mini sanitizers let me know because honestly our dollar store has them ALWAYS so it wouldn't be a problem to pick up a few extras to make sure you had enough. I can't imagine shipping to be too much since the packages are fairly small. Let me know!

Natasha, love your bags, I think they've earned the term "Swag Bags" your guests are going to love love love them!!!! Awesome job!

Love the sand in a bottle jars too!! I had wanted to do that with my invites, with The Police blaring for theme music but I just had way too many to mail!

Your Thank you cards are great too, I may have to borrow on your borrow, lol.

Kimmy, I'm so with you on the "fillers" but I have them...only 2 really, but they still suck! lol Oh well, lessons learned for the next time! hehe I don't think it's tacky to ask people to wear white - the "stars" do it, and it makes for awesome pics! So you're just going to have Super Star pics!! Loving the sound of the dueling piano bar, sounds awesome and hope you have a blast!!! It'll be really cool if the April Brides close would all get to go, unfortunately I have plans, and a little bit of distance, lol!

As for your FI in Windsor, us Canucks can get pretty wild...and can be pretty mild, who knows what happened in Windsor, You know what we say here:

"What happens in Windsor, stays in Windsor!" lol (I'm sure it was good clean fun!)

Tracy, I get the promotions for Vistaprint emailed from the CAD site and the US site, and they seem to be different...are you on their mailing list yet?? if not you can send me your email and I can bump you what I get from the Canadian site.

Yep Suzy there sure is!! Ever heard of Aussie Rules?? It just so happens to be three minutes from your house even :P I'm not sure what time you have to get there if you just go with a couple people but if you have any size group you definitely need a reservation at least a few weeks in advance to make sure you get a table. I'm sure we could make plans to go sometime though!

kim!! oh my goodness.. where in the world is there a dueling piano bar in cincihuh.gif? i would SO meet up with you guys if i hadn't already promised J's daughter that we'd take her to go see alice in wonderland. very grown up plans, huh? but mine is march 20th and we're going to brio in newport and then probably hofbrauhaus if you want to come down for mine!!

also kim, my mom found all of our medicine packets at either Costco or hospital gift shops (she works at the new hospital in West Chester). you might want to check those out!

natasha, all of your stuff looks awesome! you guests are just going to LOVE everything! i love seeing the pictures! i'm also jealous that you guys could submit your stuff for your license by mail.. we have to show up in person together (which is nearly impossible during the week) to get ours.

we did schedule our legal day though.. did i tell anyone this already? we're doing 4/20, both because J gets tuesdays off and because we figured we'd make it something funny too.

We're just in the middle of figuring out which date will work best for our legal day but definitely getting it booked up soon! The last time I thought about it was early February and it really doesn't seem that long ago, wow!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
