ShortNSweet,
That is so cute you dog moves things to have your attention, truly like a child!!! to adorable, you all will miss the puppy's so much when your gone for the wedding, who's doing 1, who's doing 2 weeks.
I know we are leaving in a month and 17 days and all I can think about is how much I am going to miss my 4 cats, and their usually sleeping, so I know it'll be worse for you guys with the dogs, as they are usually always around you guys.
I will definitely miss them while I am gone (like I am right now).

We are doing two weeks. Just recently decided to add one extra week. Since we will have 13 people going on our week-long cruise with us, it will not be a "true" honeymoon. So, we've decided to spend a week alone in Orlando, Florida at our timeshare resort when we return from the cruise.

That's so true , I keep forgetting your not home. I am so sorry sad.gif you must miss the FI too!!! hope your not to lonely. I know FI does when he travels (which is a lot, not as often as you tho!!)

We did the same, booked 1, then a few months later booked the second week. Like you feeling like the first week wont feel like a honeymoon.
That'll be so nice in Orlando. Will you do Wilt Disney? lol I love that place and is dying to go again, especially universal studio's

Not too lonely... Talk to the FI everyday and I keep myself busy working on wedding stuff and stalking the BDW and Cruise Critic message boards. Oh, and spending way too much time on VistaPrint, Discount Mugs, and other wedding favor sites ordering stuff for OOT bags and wedding favor bags. I need to stop.

My FI and I live apart right now anyway. He lives about a 2.5 hour drive south of me. He will be moving to my city after the wedding. We usually see each other every other weekend.

We will probably do at least one day at one of the Disney Parks. I really want to do Discovery Cove (where you get to swim with the dolphins). I've been to most of the parks though already, but not Universal Studios. We are just mainly going to relax. The resort has pretty much everything we need... pools, a water park, water sports, a beach, a golf course, restaurants, etc. So, we really don't need to leave the property very often. I can't wait!!!

We're staying another week at our resort, too. I agree with you girls, I think the first week with the family there will be fun but it won't feel like a honeymoon. I'm glad we'll have some time together after everyone leaves.

We're taking a trip back home around the wedding, too, which I'm really looking forward to. We'll have some time in Nova Scotia before the wedding and we'll spend some of that in FI's hometown and some in Halifax. Then we'll have almost a week after we get back from Cuba in PEI with my family. All in all we'll have a really long vacation- we've both saved up some vacation time plus we both get extra "special days" because we're getting married. It'll be hard to go back to work after a long break like that.

Tracy!!!!!!!!! VaVaVa Vooooooooooom!!!!! Nice job!! the pics look awesome, your Fi is going to go Gaga over them!!

Melidel, envy envy envy, I know I've said it before but I soooo envy that you're able to go back east before your wedding *sigh*

Shortnsweet, it must get hard sometimes being away from each other a lot! (but maybe good sometimes too! lol) but I bet you can't wait till after the wedding when you have him for good!!!

We haven't booked a second week yet, still back and forth about it, I think we'll probably end up eventually booking a second week, but prob at a different resort, so I might just wait and see what good seat sales are on at the time and then just forfeit a flight cost - it'd probably end up being cheaper anyway...when we initially booked I asked how much for 2 weeks and it was exactly double the cost...huh.gif

Plus, not much of a honeymoon with a 2 year old sharing a room!! lol We've already had a honeymoon, obviously!! lolblush2.gif but it would be nice to just chill the second week and not have to see a bunch of people you know!!! We'll see...............

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I am an April bride too! SO EXCITED! April 8th, 2010 at Sol Palmeras, Varadero, CUBA. I have my dress, the bridesmaid dresses but working on the guy attire is proving difficult right now. We still want to look somewhat formal and classy with a relaxed feel. Trying to find a linen suit/shirts....any ideas?

We're staying at our resort for 10 days - our guests are only coming for a long weekend, so they will leave by monday, and we'll be there till the following Saturday, so it will be our Honeymoon too. we travel a lot anyway - less than a month later we're going on a motorcycle trip to West Virginia for a long weekend.

Welcome michellerics!

shourtnsweet - i am the same way with ordering things off of Vistaprint - it's like an addiction!

Mel, I wish we were getting "special days" for getting married. I'm using up most of my vacation time for our two-weeks off. I know it will be soooo hard for you to go back to work after your long break.

Welcome to the thread! I know there is a thread floating around on the forum about custom linen suits.

I had my first shower yesterday! I have to say it was a tad bit overwhelming......I always thought I would be like "Bring it on!" But than I felt so guilty that all of these women (40+) had all went out, bought me a gift and were spending the afternoon with me. I guess we have all done it....and in the end it was Fantastic. My mom slaved in the kitchen for days making seashell cookies from sctarch as favors and homemade Mexican food to eat. Oh and did I mention I got sooooo spoiled!

LOL I love that you mention it as your FIRST shower!! I don't think I'm even going to be adding one shower to my tally, nevermind multiple events haha!

It sounds like you had a great time though and don't feel guilty because, afterall, everyone was there to celebrate YOUR big day coming up!! Must be nice that you got to be spoiled though :) And nice of your mom to do all that prep work too! It must've been delicious!

I was at a girlfriends shower in the summer and was AMAZED at some of the handiwork and craftiness that people put into her gifts... I almost felt cheap that I'd just bought a few nail/bath pieces and a card for her pre-wedding mani/pedi in it. At least now I know better and will be ready for the next few that I'll be going to throughout the summer!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
